First of all, was your course of Children's Literature in Willimantic? That where I studied. At that time, it was E.Conn State College. But now it's a university. I'm glad you began writing. I like your imagery. If the reader is also a writer they will definitely identify. I also dislike dialog. I think the rules have actually changed over the years. I did find a good link to learn it, but haven't gotten to it yet. I'm putting it on my list of things to do. Congratulations for your motivation and courage. You are a good example for all who stopped writing for no special reason. Well written. I'm voting for this. Thank you for your tribute to writers.

Dear Mystery Writer,

You make a lot of great points in this article, the most important one (imo) being that we are often our own saboteurs. Though most writers probably wouldn't think of it or maybe even believe it, our own innate fears of failure often keep us from starting, from pushing ourselves to go for bigger dreams or goals and from finishing. We have to just make up our minds, like you said, that it can't hurt to try.

And then give it all we've got!!

I'm sure your post will inspire folks and good for you. Thanks and good luck!

Your tenacity and thirst for knowledge to improve the quality of your writing is an inspiration to others. Honing one's craft is hard graft, but even the sharpest of skills is to no avail if one doesn't take the plunge and put the finished products out there for others to see and read. The road to success doesn't start until the first step is taken.
