A very powerful write about this one woman being strong enough to stand up to the bullies, her persecutors and tell her story. A Great free verse mike, with some rhyme that adds to the drama of the read.
Great read,
cheers.

Thanks so much, Valda, for this and all your reviews. I'm insanely behind, but I do read them all and your writing too which I love. I'm just not around as much to do the things I should. :)) mike

Such a moving poetic commentary on this political farce being played out...God bless Dr. Ford for no longer being intimidated. Watching her testify was a bullet to the heart. I was her, I know so many women who have been her...and although I did not have a tribal party smearing and threatening me the message was nonetheless clear to me that there was not a chance I would be vindicated in a patriarchal justice system. So we have a week reprieve in which the FBI (which I hear today is being seriously curtailed in it's already limited scope) will take another look at this entitled Frat-Brat who perjured himself on so many little things the other day, and demonstrated such lack of control or judicial temperament...and sadly I believe the fix is in and by Friday the motion to proceed will advance him tot he highest court in the land. It is untenable that this is happening in 2018. I fear for my daughter, for my granddaughter's...the message, 27 years after Anita Hill? White elderly men hold the power... Thank you for speaking out.

Wow!! This is powerful. Again with these clubs we reviewers are the winner. We get to read them. This poem causes me to comment. I'm sure I told you that I teach first grade, little guys. I had two little boys gang jumped and beat up by 6 other little first grade boys, because those two boys came to the defense of a first grade girl who didn't want to be kissed by one of the six. AT FIRST GRADE!!! I was shocked. What is the world coming too.

The five stars here mean what the five stars should on site, an excellent write. It flowed so well. I read it first, but before I could review it properly I felt I should come out from under my rock and look her up, although the piece still would have been a great read even if I hadn't. It was emotionally moving and thought provoking. The article I read told me enough to get the specific meaning as it related to her story in your "it can shove...like a hyena" lines, but from the get-go those lines were vividly chilling. Supposedly the assault happened many years ago so I am still unclear from my limited reading why it was brought up now. Thank you for sharing.

This is very topical. You are obviously concerned enough to write a poem about it which is very commendable. You have said it all in this excellent peice of writing which is worthy of six stars but sadly I have none left. Take care. Jen.

This is amazingly topical and compelling! (The
perfect pairing of free verse and modernity).
I felt I was trespassing inside the mind of
the incredibly heroic Dr. Christine Blasey Ford,
while at the same time, channeling my own
impressions of this extraordinary "event/spectacle".
I was absolutely riveted reading this - I
especially found the construction to be
spot on, in terms of portraying the jaggedness
of this emotional experience (for both the
participants and the observers).
I wish I could figure out a way to reward your
efforts with something more than a pedestrian
six stars.
Outstanding!!!!!!

You capture the drama of the testimony by Ford very well. Your flow and inner rhymes are excellent. You make good points, about something that is, really going on, as we speak. I like the indentation of your lines of poetry. They are used to accent the action of the poem. You sound a little tongue-in-cheek about this issue. am I right? Anyway, whatever you feel about the topic, you have written well, a poem about a 'Hero.' Thanks for sharing.
Take care, Jesse

This is wonderfully done... you have captured every essence of yesterday... You said something so perfect regaling that beautiful angel's praises and sadly she would in a heartbeat trade everything to have a do over for her life. Yours, diana

Yup! This story has managed to filter across the pond and everone is wondering, will he get away with it or will she get the law's protection? But all you guys in your sixties and older. Are you feeling safe? Things were differen in the sixties and seventies. How squeaky clean are you? Nah! Don't worry, the skeleton's will probably stay locked away un less of course you run for office!
A fine, topical free verse write.

Mr. Cahill,
I applaud you for this impeccable free verse. I applaud you for voicing your stand with this woman.
I watched her testimony. It was incredibly painful. I felt for her. She never wanted to do this. She is a brilliant and brave lady.
All too often, we as victims of sexual assault , especially at a young tender age , never speak up. We push it so far down in our gut, we deny, but it surfaces with dreams and relationships and our self esteem.
Kavenaugh might be a great judge and a good person today. People do change. But it might have served him well if he had admitted to his horrendous wrongdoing, faced his victim/accuser ... acknowledged without excuses, apologized and asked for forgiveness. To ignore such an ingregious crime against a young woman speaks volumes. His position, his acquired and inflated influence, and his political aspirations come before doing the right thing. I realize he was thrown into a lions den, and his anger was demonstrable, but what was the true issue for his anger? 64000 question.
Dr Ford's testimony was a difficult thing for her to do. I applaud her.
