Mornings are a special time for us here in the country setting at my house and it blows me away every morning the scenery is outstanding. The birds are a delight.

So glad you enjoyed this relaxing write, country ranch -- nature has always been my therapy! :) :) You know, these "required words" writes are ones that I read the words and either immediately move on or immediately know what I want to write...don't waste the time if the latter is not the case! :) :) I am so very glad to have shared my sunrise over the hilltop with you and I wish you an entire week joyful sunrises!! :) :) Yvette [can sign my name now that the competition's over :)]

Hello Anon
Thanks for writing! An interesting narrative, the character's preparation for 'something' and the revealing (of that something) is handled really well, sliding from the societal (work/school/phone) into the natural (the named animals, the scenery) as teh character passes out the door: very clever.
Strong writing.
I wish you well with this at the booth.
cheers

A delightful 100 word story for the writing prompt. I could feel myself right there with you enjoying your cup of coffee and just taking a breath.
Well done.

This is a lovely story -- one in which I can relate to.. we are always so busy and rushing around... it becomes one repetitive task, over and over, to 'do things' on our "To Do" list -- that can take up almost the entire day... we are so busy doing, we spend little just 'being' -- being totally absorbed in the moment, the warmth of the sun, hearing the lovely melodies of the birds outside, feeling the breeze on our skin, and smelling the fragrance of grass or of a rose... these are the moments we will remember, not all of the things we "did" on any particular day..
Like you, I totally agree that nature is so therapeutic and helps when you are feeling frazzled, overwhelmed, confused, or caught up in self-pity.. it works wonders!

-A very nice image and presentation.
-Notes are appreciated.
-A well written story that flows
and progresses well.
-Good use of detail and description.
-I like this line, as it relates to
the main point in your story very well:
"...only need the birds and frogs singing
their own special melodies for this."
-The ending is very good and effective,
and has a good message in only a few words.
-I liked your story very much, and
hope you do well in the contest.

Wow, Pam!! What a lovely complement those stars are!! :) :) I'm guessing then that my words did exactly as I intended to them to do!! :) You know, these "required words" writes are ones that I read the words and either immediately move on or immediately know what I want to write...don't waste the time if the latter is not the case! :) :) I am so very glad to have shared my sunrise over the hilltop with you and I wish you an entire week joyful sunrises!! :) :)

You are very welcome and deserving of the stars and review. I liked your story so much, I didn't pay attention to required words, but you did well with them. The best ones were at the end, though! I think you did do what you intended. You have a great rest of your week, and a good weekend, too!

You described the setting well, Mystery Author. I could picture you enjoying your coffee in the comfort of nature's beauty. Good job with the prompt. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes. Jan

Thank you for writing. This is a beautiful piece. I felt taken away. I wanted to throw my head back and just breath. So I did. The descriptive terms were good and kept me seeing my own version of your world. Well done.

This story has a lovely message about the importance of being in the moment. You also did a good job of setting up a beginning, middle, and end even though the story is very short.

This is so wonderful! What a poetic little story about a morning alone with the sunset and nature! Very nicely penned! I love the melodies of the birds and frogs! I like the chipmunk on the big rock! And the end is terrific! I think this should do very well in the contest! One tiny comment, is there an errant comma in the second paragraph between so and I'd?
