I found myself lost a few times in this poem, reading it aloud definitely helps. I, however, am a sucker for good rhyming and meter and you definitely struck a chord with my preferences. Thank you for your poetry!

Re--reading this work, I am struck with the overall impression that this is a brilliant summary of a life lived but still progressing and gaining knowledge and the wisdom that comes only with age.
Sure, those brilliant young can improvise, all supposition, or they can repeat lessons someone older wrote or told to a television commentator,
but the rub is; they cannot live the picture they project.
Another striking feature of this piece is the acceptance of all of the downfalls, hard times and road--bumps you experienced along the way; they are treated here as opportunities to learn, stairways to knowledge, and for most, I believe this is the hardest lesson in Life to learn. Many are embittered by the bad things that happened to them, and what a burden to carry, what heavy chains to drag!
I hope many read and gain inspiration from your words!

Actually, the use of alliteration throughout your work did not take away from or overpower your message and served to amplify your intent. As far as your gaining wisdom with age, some of us do but you also said that you are still learning, exploring, discovering ways to let your muse show you ways to improve your understanding of who, where, and what we are.
For further enlightenment you might look into the sessions of Edgar Casey, who had access to the 'Super Consciousness,' and left some remarkable information and predictions with us.
This is one of your best!

This one is so good I'm saving it to read and re-read! It's moving, clever, intelligent, well-crafted and important! Well done! I love the use of alliteration that works so well and sounds so lilting. It reminds me of an abtract expressionist painting.

So much I have to tell you I just got off work and you made my night. I appreciate your comments and appreciate you specifically pointing out what appealed to you. I utilize alliteration a great deal and I utilized it in the title of the book. I told her she called a balanced blend of Blues which is available at amazon.com thanks so much for your comments.

I like your final conclusions i find them to be spot one. I too am way past past the midway point in life and just started to listen to my muse in the last year.

Written by a well-read man whose talents were interrupted by complex reasons to self-medicate. I think you're a deep thinker, the victim of deep valleys and high peaks, undulating passion for expression. I loved the whole poem especially the alliterative
Sections. The length is high peak!

Darren, I like how much fun you have with words. Some parts are almost entirely alliteration. Others are so full of rhymes and yet you create so much of your own structure in this free verse. I like that peace that you affirm having accepted yourself for who you are - unique and rejoicing creatively with your muse.

That is a perfect opening quote. There's that wonderful alliteration. It is so fun to read oops reread. I tell you, it is a perfect way to draw the reader in, to figure out what are these words that look alike, whups, no they are not the same word, there's something just a little different about them. Hmmm. What an eccentric way to write. You are getting them to think. Now if they can only dare the length of the next leap into the self. Well written. As always, a delight.
