Exquisite! This really captures the feel, mood and essence of Autumn -- the picture too, is perfect for the poem... it reflects the warmth of the season filled with celebration and Thanksgiving -- of family gatherings, and times in which we can easily appreciate the beauty, bounty and glory the earth offers..

A lovely poem. Isn't it amazing what we can say with just a few lines. Your imagery is inviting for a feast and a place by the hearth. Very enjoyable.PM

What a bright and shiny poem and picture. This should be framed and hung! Looks marketable to me. I am always impressed when a poet can take these short ones and turn them into artistic genius. Great job and good luck!

Well, it certainly has become cool and crisp in these parts today! And I love it. When the fire is lit and the hot chocolate is steaming, summer is just a sweet memory. Welcome, Autumn!

This is very nice. You've described autumn. The crispness of the days and the warmth of the fireside. We all seem to look forward to the change of seasons. Much luck in the contest with this nice entry. Marilyn

I like the perkiness and upbeat theme of the poem. This expresses exactly how I feel this year, after an unusally hot and humid summer in San Diego. Fall started Saturday and there is an invigorating crispness in the air. Brisk evenings with a hearthside blaze are a joy. Excellent. Hugh

Aw, Hugh!
Thank you so much for such a thoughtful review!
I attempted to include everything I love about Autumn, and even snuck in some rhyme! It was a tad bit challenging, but I loved penning this piece!
So pleased it resonated with you!

You captured the heart warming side of autumn. The fireplaces blaze, the crispness of the air, you set a romantic scene. The temperature makes us grow closer. The picture compliments your words. Good luck in the contest.

A very well-written 5-7-5 ode to Autumn when the harvest is ready we can start feasting and have enough supplies for the winter time. When nature needs a rest we still goes on in the cold weather.
