This is a very well written poem about this type of moth. I have never heard of it before now. It is kind of strange looking and kinds of looks like it could be an angel poodle moth. lol. Good job! Blessings, Teri

Ok, nice foray into poetry, it made me laugh and had a cool graphic. But you need to get back to work on Baker's Dozen. I'm waiting on the next installment.

What the bloody hell is that thing? It looks a damn sight. If I ever see one in person, I'm going in the other direction with a quickness. Looks positively demonic, scares the hell right out of me and I become angelic. Quite a feat, let me tell you. LOL

This is cleverly composed, Bill. Image is adorable. I like the use of the word "lothst." Didn't know about this unique moth, but glad I do now. A fun piece. Marilyn

Hi Bill. Maybe that moth can save Venezuela's economy. Lol. This must be a super closeup photo or else it is a very large moth. When we moved from California to Indiana, we knew nothing about black moth wasps. They are very large. They are wasps disguised as moths but buzzing like wasps. More than an inch long. It got lothst in my bedroom. No fun. I am allergic to insect venom. You did a great job. Thank you for sharing

Strange looking but beautiful. Loved the rhymes moth and lothst. I wonder if his eyes really glow in the dark, and does he answer to 'Dwight'? Good addition to the poodle world.

Thanks, da, for the nice review. I saw a picture of it at night; its eyes glow making it look like a fairy.

Oh, my. I can't believe that creature. It really looks like a poodle. It does look rather angelic, in a weird way. (The wings) I don't know whether Dwight is an appropriate name for this strange moth. Fun use of rhyme in this. judi

Okay, so that is the strangest thing I've ever seen....and knowing Mr. Schott's tendency to write humor into his animal poems, I went online and looked the thing up - aaack! It's real!! :) :) :) Great poem, although I'm not sure about Dwight...perhaps Elvira? lol :) ;) Thanx for sharing the rhythmic animal lesson for the day! :)

Thanks, Yvette. Apparently Dwight was only discovered a few years ago.

OMG, I loved this weird pic and the last line cracked me up while the rest gave me a great description of a very interesting member of nature!

I probably wimped out on the final line.
Comment from Gloria ....
This is great fun, even though that moth is looking mighty skeery, Bill.
Excellent rhyme and metre and I always enjoy your unique sense of humour.
