This is a very cute and interesting poem you have penned about Hello Kitty. I don't know it its a rage these days but it was a while ago. Very cute imagery with the art work and words. Blessings, Teri

I don't know anything about the Hello Kitty. The picture looks cute. My niece was a kid when the Cabbage Dolls were the rage. It was hard to get one, the demand was so great. Cute poem, and the rhyme is great. Probably little girls would disagree about the fascination for Hello Kitty being moronic. judi

When you say 'bubonic', do you mean because it spreads so easily like a plague? I like your 'onic' matching words, but not sure 'bubonic' works here, love Dolly x

The plague is assumed in the poetic sense

And yet, if the kiddies like it, then the kitty must stay. I know you don't like it, but what are you gonna do? Are you gonna say no to the babies? I don't think so. So old boy, just grin and bear it and let the kitty have her day.

Hi Bill. Their love was plutonic, not really sonic. Cute poem. Good phonics. Not to be demonic. But it is near Halloween. Are you somewhere where Halloween is celebrated? Very fun poem. Thank you for sharing

Comment from Gloria ....
Some of these fads are the craziest things. Hello Kitty isn't something my girls went for, likely because we like full grown cats. That said, your adorable poem is more than laconically ironic to illustrate this thang.
Great job, Bill.

Just like your play on the endings of "abobs" (I believe it was) last time, I really like this with the "onic" endings...there's just something about that style that has a special way of keeping the reader engaged: it's like we're creeping through a maze looking for the next interesting aspect of the kitten just around the next corner....almost makes one want to cheer when you get to each one!! So fun! :)
Thanx for sharing the smiles again - your writing is always enjoyable! :)

What a fun piece! With -ic ending every line and the tone of the poem, I can't help but think of the word "sick" and it seems to me that that's really what you are getting at here: there is something "sick" or "icky" about the way younger generations are influenced by the "tonic" of pop culture. Or...have I read to far into it!?

Lol! I could never understand why Hello Kitty ever became a thing. It was popular when my oldest daughter was little 30+ years ago. And there are entire stores devoted to only Hello Kitty. And I even know people my age who like them. Why?
