I see the loss was felt more by the 4th who could not sleep thinking of his cold hands-haha. Clever and attention grabbing little write here.

I thought a German flavor would be funny.

This is worth a five just for the adorable picture of the kittens. Clever use of the German dialect. It seems the only logical to do if you've lost your mittens would be to take a nap. It's like Scarlet saying "I'll think about it tomorrow." They're keeping warm anyway, all snuggled up together. judi

Yes and guess what the three dreamt of, three blind mice of course. The fourth? He went out and found them, ate them all and shamed his three hungry brother for being too lazy to go out and get themselves some lunch.

That's why the fourth never gets mentioned, I guess.

Comment from Gloria ....
So my guess is, the name of the rebel kitty cat in the foreground is Mittens. You likely wrote that and I just missed it.
Very cute poem, Bill and a pleasure to read today.

Hi Bill. A German satire, eh? Why did you choose to do that. What in German is was. But if you used that people would confuse it with the English word. Clever. Thank you for sharing

It's English with a German or Yiddish accent. "What" replaces who in the dialect as the relative clause starter, and 'vat' is the vernacular expression.

This is a very well written and cute 5-7-5 poem about the three little kittens that lost their mittens and then took a nap. You used very cute words and very cute imagery from the adorable picture. Blessings, Teri

What a cute little poem! And the photograph is adorable! You can probably tell I am a cat lover. My cat is very annoyed with me now as I am not petting her, but tapping words onto a phone! Good job. I enjoyed the read.
