A very well-written 1-7-1 poem the interrogators watch the interrogated and notice that she is lying in the way she fidgets and then look at her watch several times.

Just a little break from the school week, meeshu - been reading a few of my PI novels on the side lately (in those wee hours of the morning when us older women can't seem to sleep well anyway - LOL!!) and this was on my mind...go with what's there, I suppose! :) :) Thanx again for the read and review and have a wonderful weekend of easy reading and gentle breezes! :) :)

I like your poem. Good choice of words. I like your title. But I don't understand "...knows the tells." I'm assuming you mean a good detective knows when someone is lying. At any rate, this is a really good poem for the prompt. Good idea!

Short but an interesting use of the repeat word - watch - to detail someone acting guilty. Watch out!

This is a good entry in the 171 contest, Mystery Author. good job on the correct syllable count. I really like how the first and last word of the poem mean two different usages of the same word. Your picture s a nice pairing with your well-chosen words. Best wishes. Jan

Terribly restrictive rules here. I think you have done well, but a person checking their watch could mean about anything including when he or she put dinner in the oven.
