OMGoodness. I didn't know that. They eat their young or others' young. I find out all kinds of things from your critter stories. As always clever wording, innovative and interesting. Ko-mo-do and Ko-mo-flo (good choice for names). Marilyn

Damn, that's cold. Dude is going to eat the babies? What if a hungry guy had been around when he was a baby? I guess he doesn't care. Oh well, survival of the fittest, coldest and hungriest. Life is rough in the animal kingdom.

They?re so cute and tasty when they?re young.
Comment from Phyllis Stewart
Komoflo won't be happy with her hubby's meal menu. But maybe reptiles don't get attached to their babies the way mammals do. Turns out ten percent baby-eating isn't bad when you consider that African cats eat their young, too, if they can get past the mother. She protects them pretty well, though. :)

I can picture a dragon with half of his own tail in its mouth.

That would be a painful meal. LOL

This is a very interesting poem you have penned about the Komodo dragon. You used very good words, very appropriate picture and good information about the diet. I enjoyed reading and reviewing this. Blessings, Teri

How yucci-haha. And they looked so loving and sweet in the picture, I was fooled until I read the story. As always, you have a knack for finding the bizarre and interesting.

Thanks, FB. When the dad dragon throws a ball to his kid, he?s just playing with his food.

Hilarious -- although, is eating the young an issue with these odd creatures? Wasn't sure.... Really enjoyed the term 'monarch pop' - think I might have to use that sometimes! :) :) Fun!
As always, thank you for sharing them and your smile this morning! :)

They are the real mindless eating machine. Cannibalistic nature. It?s not a problem I guess. Parent Magazine might want a word with them.

He he he this made me smile Bill, poor little babies eaten by their parents? How are they able to survive? I have never heard of such a thing, your clever witty poem has truth in it, love Dolly x

Comment from Gloria ....
Oh nice, Bill, so what is the other 90% of their diet?
But I must say that Mista Dragon will be lucky if he survives his three small meals. LOL.
Most amusing and a fun read too.

Thank you, Gloria. The dragon seems to enjoy everything that consists of meat.

Cannibalism in his own family. I think Ko-Mo-Flo needs to run away before her newts are born. Great picture.
There are many things I'd like to see, but Komodo Dragons aren't on the list. They can run faster than I can.

I understand that it?s only the rule of law that keeps us from eating our young as well. (and the taste)

OMG really?!!
Wow. Remind me NOT to reincarnate as a komodo...it would not be a long second life haha
Loved your lizard ditty.
Lizard fact...they have TWO reproductive organs.
This may be one reason why they eat their own kind.
Keeps the population in check hahaha
After all they can mate with two females at once.
Oh the komodo orgies haha!
Great work!!
Cheers P
