LIFE OF A RETIRED PERSON CAN BE SO UNENTERTAINING. WE BECOME SO BORED WITH LIFE. WE COULDNT WAIT TO BECOME RETIRED NOW WE ARE JUST TIRED.

Tired and retired, what a life. Thanks very much for reading and reviewing my verses on how not to get ahead...

A good humorous rundown of morning time in your place, Red. Loved the buttugly maidens seeking love. Great phrasing and a good finish, with the final thought in dark print. Enjoyed this, well done with this form,
cheers

I met that butt-ugly term on Sandford and Son...was always a great admirer of departing females myself...thanks very much for reading and reviewing my response to the Potlatch Club challenge.

Terrific job on this form. The poem is fun and I can relate. My schedule now includes afternoon naps and five meals per day. Sure beats working all day. Now I can stay up all night on my computer if I feel like it, and there's no price to pay... I'll just sleep all day. :)

I sleep when I feel the need, and that's in daylight as often as dark. Not getting enough exercise is a major shortcoming of mine.
Perhaps my two flights of stairs have been a blessing...but here's to retiring the clock! Thanks very much for reading my potlatch club poem, the LaCharta.

Oh awesome! What a really and truly wonderful poem!!! I love what it says. The WAY you say it. And yes, we'll all rest sooner or later. :/ When a poem flows like this it's like riding a horse that can lope so smooth it's like sittin' in a rocking' chair! :D Love this Red...!!

One of the two plow animals I ever rode even a little was a huge mule whose trot would grind your spine...thanks very much for reading and reviewing my potlatch club La Charta poem. I find myself up all night and sleeping in the noonday, never sure what meal it's time for. Thanks also for the six. I like them and don't see many...

Hi Red! You are so talented...and I've been a night owl for years. Once you get started, well...you can't go back... :) And you're welcome for the six and it's deserved...

Wow! What a delightfully amusing LaCharta. It's nice to be retired and not answer to the rat race anymore. I never listen to news, either. To depressing, and one never knows the truth.

You adhered to the challenge beautifully. No errors. Perfect rhyme and meter.

I figured I missed one key word in the instructions, I usually do...thanks very much for reading and reviewing my La Charta. You know, I only sleep about eight hours a day...in two naps that can happen anytime, no system at all. Viva retirement.

Me, too. I sleep in spurts. lol

Well, I guess we all know what our end is, but it is mostly out of our mind. But there will come that when our life is over - and then what? I have a hope of eternal life and this is comforting to me. The day that "I'll snooze forever," will be my graduation day. Now that I am retired I find it difficult to pace my day - I get so distracted with all the small things. I intend to hang on to life as long as it is given to me. And the wonderful people like you who feed my soul.

I found the La Charta a useful form for the thoughts I expressed here, although as always my work needs polishing. I think I could re-read my stuff twenty times and still find changes worth making. Thanks for reading and reviewing and especially for that sixth star.

You did a good job, Red, with your potlatch challenge. I enjoyed reading it. Your lines are correct s to form. I like your rhymes & the use of enjambment. It is easy to follow & tells a good little story. Thanks for sharing. Jan

I think the La Charta is a useful form, possibly worth using again when the right subject matter surfaces. Thanks very much for reading and reviewing my response to the potlatch challenge. The tendency to take naps at all hours has me uncertain of the time or what meal is next...

Hello Poet, this poem speaks to a general feeling of being fed up with the world and the fast paced nature of modern life. I can respect your feelings even if I don't empathize with them. I liked the conversational and tongue in cheek feel of the write. I am sure you will find many that feel similar here. I think you used the form well, although I know very little about this type of poem. It seems like the rhymes were good and the meter generally sounded good to my ear as well. Best to you for a relaxing Sunday.

Thanks very much for reading and reviewing my La Charta poem, a challenge from the potlatch club. I am old, retired and do not think many of the hassles of life are worth the candle. What's important is having beliefs and causes, even dreams.

A very wel-written LaCharta about your life that is like you want it to be, there is no rush and no boss to impress. When it is cold, go back and sleep on, no one can fire you when you snooze on.

That's the way my life has become, and it is hard to get accustomed to after years of punching the clock in a mill. Can't say I don't really enjoy falling back onto the pillow betimes. I like the La Charta form, it seems useful to me for certain subjects.
    Thanks for reading and reviewing.

I loved your sentiments here and I feel just the same some days, but always make the effort to rise and get on with things, as you say the moment you don't, you're in that wooden box! Your clever words have earned you a six, love Dolly x

I kinda bounce in and out of the box, all set to snooze indefinitely one day and up at the first chirp of dawn the next. I really enjoy the freedom of being able to do either. Thanks very much for reading and reviewing my La Charta poem, and that six surely makes my day.
