Hard enough to develop an acrostic with any depth of meaning...add to that your comprehensive story, fine flow and delightful rhyme scheme and I was swept up from first line to last. Congratulations on your first place win!

So agree the old days as we tend to call them memories of the past and oh was the work hard compared to today - life so much easier yet there are more moans - not enough time in a day how they did it all those years ago is hard to imagine - they just got on with it - lovely write

Congratulations on your much deserved win in the contest. Your poem is beautiful. It's expressive and lyrical. It certainly paints an honest picture of life and shows how much love you had for your grandmother.
Very well written!
Again, congratulations!

Thank you for sharing your memories of your grandmother and the "good ole days" in this acrostic. I was impressed you were able to create it in rhymed couplets as well. Cheers and congratulations on winning the contest- Joan

A very beautiful poem, remembering your grandmother. Wish we could all hope that our beloved departed one's can see the memories with which we glorify them. Congrats on your win. You deserve it. Best, RFL

I love everything about this poem. The structure, the message, the memories it brings back, everything. There is not one single thing I would change about this. I entered this contest myself, but after reading this I can certainly see how you deserved to receive first place. I have only given out one six star rating in the past because to me those are reserved for the very best, but you my dear have definitely earned it in my opinion. Congrats on your win and thank you for writing such beautiful work!

This is a charming acrostic poem :) I never knew my grandmothers, but I did get to spend some time with my husband's grandmother. He was lucky to know all four grandparents. My grandkids havethree great grandmothers, two grandmothers, one step grandmother, and two grandfathers. Molly has two grandmothers, two great grandmothers, and one grandpa. I think kids that have grandparents in their loves are so lucky.
Congratulations on winning this contest. Well deserved.

They are memories to cherish for sure and I'm sure we will all have similar ones that we hold dear and take comfort from when we sit back close our eyes and remember. A Very nice Acrostic friend
