Do you know that lobsters can live seventy five to one hundred years? They live longer than we do if we let them? My daughter brought us a live lobster once. I wanted to take it to the ocean and let it go. Not sure it would have survived since it was an Atlantic lobster and we are near the Pacific. Your meter and rhyming are spot on. Thank you for sharing

Clever and whimsical. A fine "PRANKA" - thanks for making me chuckle with that new term. Ha ha ha! Excellent form, though the pivot line works smoothly only in one direction. Many don't know this, but in tanka, ideally, the pivot line should toggle between the first and second halves of the poem more fluidly, as your grammar and semicolon choices fail to link it but here is an idea:
for their sacrifice,
accounting for seafood sales,
Excellent medley ofL and S sounds. A cohesive and comedic write. Well done, and a fine presentation.
Warmly, rd

Thanks, RD. I purposely name these pranka to escape restrictive rules of the form. Happy day.

This is a very interesting and well written Tanka poem about the lobsters and their tails. Many people love seafood. I love it too, but don't remember having lobster. Blessings, Teri

Yummy for the tummy. Gives a whole new meaning to getting a little tail, does it not? While there is nothing wrong with the other iteration, I won't complain if getting a little tail relates to getting some lobster tail. Perhaps presenting the young lady with some scrumptious Lobster Tail might just lead to your getting some of the other kind as well.

I certainly do.
You've invented another poetry form - the Pranka, a prank and a tanka. Very good.
Now, I'm off to Red Lobster. Dinner's on you. lol

Not that fond of lobsters myself. I do love the lobster-stuffed mushrooms at the Red Lobster, with all that mozzarella. Excellent way of bringing in your rhyme. I understand you have to have a great deal of expertise to eat a lobster tail. It's also expensive. (At least here in Indiana. A fun pranka. judi

Another fun lobster poem with great meter and rhyme. I almost wished for the Spanish word for lobster "langosta" just for the alliteration with languishing but that would be too many syllables.
