Hi Christine. You're right. The rules are pretty restrictive. Not much out there that's safe. Love what you actually DID write about and that is--the impossibility of writing for this contest. Great job. Marilyn

Very interesting. I did not count the words so I do not know if you went over. Good luck anyway. Flow of words makes it easy to read and funny. Great story.

Thank you for stuffing so much humor into a very small size dress. Well done, I enjoyed this short piece immensely. You were able to put back the substance that was the forbidden topic and offer up in its place, the the perils of writing within strict guidelines. Thank you for stuffing so much humor into a very small size dress. Well done, I enjoyed this short piece immensely. You were able to put back the substance that was the forbidden topic and offer up in its place, the the perils of writing within strict guidelines. But I don't believe I would've even attempted this prompt.
I mean, what the hell is everyone supposed to write about?
There's always dragons, faeries, Vikings and trolls.
There are hobbits, Roman Centurions, sharks and Jesus (not necessarily in that order, ahem).
Ya know, come to think of it, I might have been able to come up with something after all.
What a crrrrrrrazy list of rules!

I hate contests that limit you to a specific word count or poetry that tells you how many syllables to write. It's not creative if it's over 17 syllables or rhymes when we don't wait too.
