A fun piece. Glad you're entering a contest, and best of luck. It looks like there have been several lobster casualties. I notice the Red Lobster where I live (Terre Haute) doesn't have lobsters in its tank anymore. I wonder if that's why--the children become too attached to them. Cute names. You follow the correct nonet format and with the additional plus of rhyme and the tongue-twister first line. judi

Will Kayla know that you are eating Luke? I remember my mother in law telling a story about a chicken. She loved this chicken and used to dress it in doll clothes. Her mother said it was time to dress the chicken to cook it. But she did not mention the cooking. So her daughter gleefully asked if she could put the socks on the chicken. She learned to not fall in love with the poultry. Your poems are charming and to the point. Thank you for sharing

That's too bad there' such a sad ending to the play date. I was surprised when playing with the grand kids that they had no squeamishness about picking up sand crabs so like the girl with the giant lobster, the insect-like appearance doesn't affect her.

My granddaughter dug a sand crab up yesterday. She had a crazy expression of joy and amazement

So-o-o-o, after this fun lobster-venture into "L" words (which is great put into the nonet form!), I'm waiting on Lucifer Lobster....although I'm almost afraid to ask about him since your lobster-lyrics have been getting a bit sensational...! :) :) LOL
Thank you for sharing and good luck in the contest! :) :)

I see I've got some tough competition in the Nonet contest!
This is a great poem to go with this picture. I only hope Layla likes her little friend after he's had a hot butter swim!

This is a cute nonet, Bill. I love the alliteration in it. I could eat that entire lobster. YUM! lol. Lots of luck to you. ~Kerry

Now there's a lobster to feed a hungry family! What a delightful picture you create with your words. It puts a whole new meaning to the idea of children playing with their food!
