Deare, me, Bill, what a tragic story. I often wonder how such evil could happen. It's difficult to imagine the horror of it all. A very well composed poem depicting such a tragedy. All the best. Ulla:))

What a sad story in a poem, Bill. You did a great job telling of this story. The picture is perfect for your well-chosen words. Too bad the jury took pity on him, but I believe most would do the same thing. Thanks for sharing. Jan

What a story! I'd never heard of this condition before. He would have been a sensation if he had been in a circus. His deformity didn't stop him from being a murderer, however. If he was guilty, he should have received punishment by the law. That might have been better than being shot in the head. Your poem is well worded. judi

A sad life for the boy, but he didn't deserve to get off free. Apparently, his wife knew he had to be stopped.
I guess the stigma of his handicap turned his mind.

My land, what a story in a poem this is. That's a tragic story from start to finish and I wonder that ever happened.
Excellent albeit disturbing post, Bill. Fact is oft times much stranger than fiction.
Enjoyed.

When I was young Isaw this poor buy in a county fair freak show. At least he was able to make a living from his tragic deformity. Which is more than I can say for Phyllis Stewart. No one wants to see the bearded lady anymore.
