Yep! You got that right. Truth is stranger than fiction. Biogeneticists are already playing around with combining or altering DNA. They claim it's to eliminate hereditary diseases but it's suspected to allow "designer babies." Marilyn

What do get when you cross a horse with a black widow spider? Don?t know, but if it bites you, you can ride it to the doctor.

Hi Bill, this a great 5-7-5 poem about the elephino. Whatever it is true or not it makes for fun reading and my imagination going wild. I like this series already. All the best. Ulla:))

That was my exact response to the question of what would you call a cross between an elephant and a rhino? My response was... "Elephino." My questioner was not amused, thought I was being a smartass, I replied if I were truly I would not be wasting my time talking to you.

Comment from Gloria ....
Well here I am reading posts out of order again, but the beautiful thing is, in this case it doesn't matter.
A fine fiveseventyfive, Bill and you'd think some scientists might have better things to experiment with, yes?
Great job

I get the idea. You are progressing from the teeniest of critters to the largest. Say it isn't so--the thought of an elephino is mind-boggling. Hard to imagine what they will think of next. There must be some kind of DNA manipulation going on. Your 5-7-5 count is precise. Clever idea. judi

Remember when they crossed a Buffalo with longhorns to get beefalo? That?s tasty beef with low cholesterol.

You're welcome. I haven't seen any beefalo at Kroger. I think I have heard of it. judi

Mostly in the Southwest, where the buffalo roam.

This speaks about a new item creation as a fruition of DNA splicing, an elephino represents conjunction of two animals an elephant and a rhinoceros; well said, well done. Keep Writing -- DR ALCREATOR

Shows a lot of imagination. Writing Haikus is not my strong suit. I, therefore, admire those who can. The picture is very interesting. Something I will probably refer to in the future at odd times :)
