It broke my heart to read this sad story. I know how drugs can change a sweet and beautiful person into someone you don't recognize, but a mother's love does not go away. I'm so sorry for what you have lost, and pray there will be healing for all of you somehow. Beautifully written and a touching story.

Brigitte, my heart goes out to you. I can imagine how difficult and painful this is for you. I'm glad you have God to lean upon, and hope it helps a little to know others truly care and pray for you.

What a heartbreaking nightmare for anyone to live through as it unfolds. Mystery Author. Your words are poignant & any parent can identify with your as can anyone who reads your heart-felt story. I am sorry for your loss. Although so sad, you told it well. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes. Jan

There is very little to ease the sadness and tears. Sharing with writing has been therapeutic for me. I thank you kindly for reading and reviewing. Faith will get me through as I know we will be reunited in heaven.
    Blessings,

No one can ever feel as you do until they loose one of their own. It is the worst nightmare a family has to go through. What did her eighteen year old react to all this? Hopefully it will keep them away from drugs too. Sorry for your loss!

The 18 year old is very angry. We are working through this. Thank you for reading. Yes, she has no vices and hopefully will come to terms with this tragedy. The 5 year old does not understand yet that she will never see her mommy again. Chaos is still in me and I am (and my husband is ) dealing a day at a time. Faith is going to get us through. Our daughter is at peace and we are not...

I cannot imagine how your family was affected from start to finish once your daughter became addicted. You do a good job of setting the scene, explaining how/why she became addicted to painkillers, and how her personality and behavior changed. But focus more on the REAL NIGHTMARE for you on the day ou found her ODed. Add more details, especially focusing on your feelings and behavior.

Thank you first of all for reading. Of course, her dad's nightmare is just beginning and that is his story. I can only imagine the scene and I try not to go there. This could have been very detailed to behaviors but it was too hard to pen all of that.

    Have a good week.

This speaks how addiction brings in nightmares with everyday new drama, though nightmare ended formally, even other worst nightmares cause like loss of lives; well said, well done. Keep Writing -- DR ALCREATOR

Thank you for reading. The horrid details are omitted, too painful to write. The actual finding her is her Dad's story and I don't want to go there. Thank you for reading. This was therapeutic and not a real contest entry per se.

I'm not sure why but your story is copied here 3 times before the reader is able to get to reviewing, but your story was strong and powerful, I am no stranger to addiction so I know the nightmare it is, good work
