We can only forgive, only God can actually cover the sin and make them disappear, as if they never where. A beautifully scribed acrostic as an entry in this poetry contest, excellent language wonderfully acurated text in the process, well done, blessings, Roy

Very well done! I like the way you first defined forgiveness, then showed how to forgive and help to lead the person back to a better life. Thank you so much for sharing your work and good luck in the contest!

To be able to forgive is to act like God and his son Jesus. That is one of the qualities that he blessed mankind with. We struggle with this because we are no longer perfect. For God and Jesus, it is easy because they are perfect. Even though we have problems forgiving fully, we must always try for you see our forgiveness benefits us much more than it does for those we forgive.

My Grandmother, long since dead, use to say, "I may forgive but I never forget". I think people who have hurt emotionally or physically, someone may be forgiven but I'd have a hard time forgetting. Years ago I remember a lady with whom I worked, I believe she was talking about her husband, said, "Once a man hits you, you never forget". I still go along with my Grandmother. Your words in your poem are very good and I would not be critical of them. Take care.

What a well-done acrostic poem. Your words flow well, and have a good rhythm. I definitely appreciate the optimism in your poem, showing that forgiveness exists and is available for the asking, if we put in the effort.

In my opinion, an articulate write about a very difficult subject, one I find difficult in my own life, and this was presented with compassion and resolve - adheres to the form and is fully compliant with the prompt - best wishes in the contest...

This is a well written poem. For me, there is one thing missing: our part in the act of forgiveness. I used to think that I had to forgive my brother who was very abusive to me and then I read a meditation by Jack Kornfield. He suggests that I think of how I have wronged the person I think I want to forgive. That is when I finally realized that I had to ask forgiveness for retaliating. Apparently, my brother only remembers the retaliation. All in all you followed the rules of an acrostic extremely well and it is an excellent poem.

I also love this poetic form, but an acrostic poetry is quite difficult to master because we are limited by the letters of the word we want to work on a poem. But you were able to do it just perfectly. Well done.

Forgiveness is a touchy subject for me. With each line and reading the title alone made me feel some way. It's a sadness of wanting to forgive but forgetting seems impossible.

Thank you very much it is hard and I suppose it depends on what action we are trying to forgive****kahpot

I like the idea behind this contest entry and it's well written, follows the contest rules. This type of poetry is not easy to create , I know because I have tried. I like the truth and the sentiment behind the words, it's a good way to look at things. Thanks for sharing.
