A well written acrostic! I'm so glad you revisited the form--your writing does it justice. So many mistake forgiveness for acceptance that what the forgiven did was just. That you have pointed out it is merely an unwillingness to allow their actions to poison our hearts is an important concept.

Wow, this is very powerful! Each line demonstrated such intelligence and depth. I like how you take us on a journey of forgiveness, a story, where you continually guide us along the way with your well-placed reference (forward, path, cross a road, step with us, join the road, etc.). I wanted to keep walking that road, learning more about forgiveness with each step - each line of the poem. I especially loved your line, "Giving support when doubt still divides." You really challenged me to think more deeply about forgiveness, and if I could also walk this path. I thought your use of various nouns, verbs, and adverbs at the beginning of each sentence was very effective. Well done!

I never noticed it was an acrostic poem. Luckily I hung around to let the poem sink in. If I were you I would edit and put the first letters of each line in Bold. Leave a space with the first letter of each line and the second letter of each line. The first line keeps drawing me back. " to empathize without acquittal" So, is it forgiveness without being judged, of forgiveness with a trial? I like the poem, it reads very well. I really like every line of this poem. If I absolutely had to choose a favorite it would be these two lines: "Inviting them forward so they may see
Visions of faith and a chance to believe". Thanks for sharing. Have a blessed weekend

Thank you I love your help, I thought the first letters were Bold and I will look at spacing I never thought of that, the first line I hoped would mean to try and understand though not agreeing with the action or letting the action to be forgotten, Wow! what a great review, many thanks****kahpot

There's a lot of folks who don't appreciate the beauty of Acrostic poetry but I don't happen to be one of them.
I love 'em, especially if they happen to rhyme.
Having said that, you've done an excellent job conveying your poetic free verse message of forgiveness in this well written entry.

Hello Kahpot, another lovely poem from you. An acrostic that shows your versatility. I liked the subject too, forgiveness is the hallmark of a true Christian and a true human being, for that matter. So many people run to gossip and hate, and their first thoughts are often evil thoughts and attributing blame. I invariably run if I get a hint of someone being toxic. And it shows in their writing and their words. I don't need these sort of people in my life and you can pick your friends. I noticed no errors, just great word choices and a poem I'd recommend, cheers, Ana.

Forgiveness comes in all shapes forms and even colors. It is in all how one looks at in life. In life we aren't always lunches enough to get second chances but we we do we need to forgive and forget and go forth with new beginnings and never dwell on the past
