Hi Tony. My-oh-my, Teagan is getting so big. I like that you are taking her to the Met. I did the same thing with my kids when we lived in NY. Dragged them to all the museums and galleries as an art student. My daughter has her art degree and is a much better artist than I am. Your poem is wonderful. Tried to pick out a favorite line, but I can't. All poem is beautifully composed. Photo is amazing. Marilyn

Many thanks for the review and six stars, Marilyn. Teagan loves drawing and painting and gets great encouragement from both her mum and her dad.

Cute photo for your I Imagine poem that you've used for the inspiration for this one as your granddaughter raises her arms to the angelic cherubs floating above her outstretched arms. Lovely all round and good luck in the contest.
cheers,
valda

Hello, dear Tony. What a fabulous photo choice to match this excellent entry to the I imagine contest. Glad you're enjoying New York.
Love this phrasing:
I embrace
the very essence of the artist's oils
as paint dissolves in swirls of pulsing grace,
freed from the gilt of gesso bordered walls.
*suggestion:
These cherubim are poised on fragile wings
to fly towards the welcome of my arms,(no ,)
and gently lift me up, a heart that sings
and soars beyond the realms of earthbound qualms.--- Nice eloquent voicing!
*suggestion:
In time(,) I'll ask them back with me to earth,
where we will paint the city pavements gold,(no ,)
and fill the hearts and souls of men with mirth,
instilling joy in all, both young and old.
Lovely closing note.
Fine flow and rhyming. Great theme.
Enjoyed!
Warmly, rd

I imagine it is wonderful to share such moments with your granddaughter
In youth, anything is possible, even embracing cherubs
and who knows, maybe one day they will return
instilling joy for all.
Excellent rhymed poem for the contest
Best wishes to you and your family

A wonderful snapshot of your granddaughter at the museum. I thought you maybe in the Sistine Chapel. Then again, those old paintings survive in many museums. Have you been to the Tate Gallery in London? Awesome! Thanks for sharing my friend XXK.

Very many thanks, Kay. It's years since I've been to the Tate. Would love to go again while we are in London, but most of our time in England will be visiting nieces and nephews.I appreciate the sixth star. Best wishes, Tony

beyond the realms of earthbound qualms. My favorite line and great use of consonance.
Occasionally this image applies to some of us who experience great joy and share it with others.

I liked how this poem captured the ability of art to raise our spirits, to embody the hopes and dreams in all of us. The language was eloquently composed, with wonderful musical elements, nice echoing rhyme effects and plenty of alliteration stitched into it. Nice one estory

Hello,
I love the picture of your granddaughter :) Too sweet.
Your poem is imaginative, indeed. I really like your approach of a connection between the painting and the viewers. It's almost like the artist, hundreds of years ago, made a portal for the past and future to meet. I wonder if the artist knew the art would be enjoyed for so long into the future? I wonder if the artist could see the impact of their painting on future generations, what would he say? Best wishes in this contest.
