Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

You chose a powerful photo (as it appears to depict the bird in prayer), and have shared equally powerful information. I had no idea that these birds were extinct in the wild!
As for the poem, it's perfect. The bird appears to offer prayer in God's natural cathedral. Let's hope those prayers are answered, and that the condor does not end up dwelling only with the angels.

What an impresive bird and their wingspan is amazing.
I do hope they are breeding in captivity for how sad to find them extinct.
Thanks for raising awareness of he plight of the condor.
We also have many plants, birds and animals at risk in Australia.

It's great that something is being done before these creatures become extinct. They were put here for a purpose it's a loss if they're no longer around. That's an amazing wingspan. "Soaring into extinction" is an excellent phrase. Great image of the condor. Appears that it is number 87, right? They must really be keeping track of these guys. judi

Thanks, Judi, for giving this a look. The California Condor is springing back after thirty years as a protected species.

Foolish men have never learned how to peacefully co-exist with te life forms around him. for that matter, some men cannot even co-exist with members of their own family. This is so sad. How many more species must go missing before we miss them enough to start trying to preserve them?

This is a very interesting and well penned 5-7-5 about the condors. You used very good words that told of a sad tale about their extinction. Nice job. Blessings, Teri

I like the "cathedral" as I imagine the canyons that condors fly in. And then it foreshadows the "angels" in the last line.
Good news, condors are back up in population:

Condors are going extinct. The last eight were taken into captivity. They are soaring with the angels. Went extinct in the wild in 1987. Great photo and message.

Great picture that brings to mind a 'condor cathedral.'

I remember that in 1987. Hopefully, they will increase their population in captivity and can be free again.

Hello Bill, what a magnificent creature. Just love it and that wingspan. Isn't it sad that they are extinct in the wild? let's hope they're having a breeding program with those last 8. Good poem and beautifully written and published, nothing to fix, Ana :)

This speaks poet's concern about extinction in the wild, Condor is soaring into extinction, like the birds in the angels; well said, well done. Keep Writing -- DR ALCREATOR
