I live in NH so I agree - this past winter was way too long! I really could relate to this poem. I think it's really good and I like the photos that go with it too. Best of luck in the contest. Let's just hope the weather gets better soon. No snow here now, but rain! We need sunshine! Wishing that for you in the months ahead. Blessings.

This is the second Tyburn I've read today, it is a fun form to have a go at. I've enjoyed both of them, the other was summer based and yours winter, both made me smile and both were well executed. well done and good luck to you!

Oh, what fun! I mean your poem and not the slipping and tripping. Ouch. I've read a lot of these tyburns for this contest and yours delight me with its descriptions of winter mishaps. Your poem also bids farewell to winter as spring arrives.

Thank you for sharing your humorous entry. I wish you contest success.

    Hello Andre,
I surely enjoyed penning this piece...almost as much as I have enjoyed watching "Old Man Winter" take a hike!
Thank you for your excellent rating and thoughtful review!

You sure caught the tolerable, but bast aspects on winter in your opening, and brought it home with your nine-syllable lines at the end.

I have a serious case of cabon fever and can totally relate to having a wake for the winter.

I love the sing-song quality of this poem that makes it seem like a child's chant (much like "rain, rain, go away...). Fun, playful, timely, visual. strong entry for your contest.

Well stated. I live in San Diego and winter is but a distant image of cold and hardship for others but not here. Does it create character, I believe so. And your poem helps we warmlanders to understand the plight just a bit.

Great winter poem. The picture reminds me of the preacher who believed everything was predestined. He slipped on some ice one day and broke his leg. He said, "Thank goodness that's over with.
