Your rainbow story in a poem is very well written. You used very descriptive words throughout to describe the emotions of the person and their cat. I like the term bridge of rainbows and good use of alliteration of many letters and sounds. I enjoyed reading your poem. Best wishes!

Great picture selection for this very interesting poem that is written with excellent imagery and should do very well in the contest. Good luck.

I've lost too many of my adored pets to read a poem like this one without bawling like a baby - what an incredibly poignant story in a poem. I can't imagine that I haven't just read the winner of this prompt (but the booth is SO unpredictable). Good luck!

Wow, thank you for such an encouraging review. This is actually a very abbreviated form of several chapters in my pt 2 book of a series, Be Wee With Bea. I am Bea the wee bear and my dog is Sweet Puppy and we both are very affected by Scruffles' leaving us. I hope people can heal from reading about the grieving we did for my cat, Scruffles. And tears are very healing.

You did a great job centering your theme around your cat. A Maine Coon is an dramatic looking feline! You had good flow and feeling throughout this piece. Well done.

It's a sweet but sad tale of a cat that's passed on? At least, that's what I understand that a Maine Coon cat got thrown out for being too noisy while the pet parent tried to sleep. It seems the cat made it to the "Rainbow Bridge" and the owner is comforted. But there are details I'm not sure about. Was there a cause and effect to the cat having departed to the "bridge" because of being put out?
And who is the "puppy" in:
"Walking toward home with her sweet puppy, the wind moaned deeply "
Another pet? The emotional connection is well done but the details were not as clear to me anyway.

Thank you for your detailed review. It was very painful to write. It is part of a chapter of a pt 2 of a series I'm writing called Be Wee With Bea. Converting it to poetry form may be why it may be a bit unclear.

This work has reached the exceptional level

There is nothing so powerful as the feeling like you should have known something ahead of time in order to prevent a tragedy. The loss of a companion friend will always be remembered.
"Bittersweet memories of his growing weaker, the final beautiful stroll" is so sad and the feeling lingers.

Excellent writing.

this is a poem so full of colorful language and is in a form easy for the reader to enjoy. the story seems to be about regrets over mistreating a pet. not sure I f it is a dog that eats tuna and climbs bird baths or a cat that howls and plats fetch?

It was my Maine Coon cat who did all of those things. I kind of trained him to be a bit like a dog since he was my first "cat". Thank you for the amusing review.

Oh my gosh I was so touched by your poem it brought me to tears.. it was beautifully written and so heartfelt.. I felt your pain I felt your loss, I tasted your tears.. "...You feel wounded inside and out with bruises which would never heal " a beautiful and painful passage in the poem and in your life.. and I have no doubt that your Maine Coon purposely painted that rainbow just for you!

This speaks making of a journey, to the bridge of rainbows, a cat starts a journey after a good movement with bumps she found the most hope-filled glorious rainbow at the end; well said, well done. DR ALCREATOR
