The poem flows well and demonstrates how a life changes through the years. Our hopes and dreams change with age, experience and wisdom. Some dreams are achieved but people may have a tragedy in life and that leads in a different direction. None of know what lies ahead, for some a blessing, for others a curse lies in the next bend. Perh a ps I am the right age to appreviate this. Life e nds eithervwh e n we die OR when one decides to stop living and startvdying. I never see the end if the spring running fasr....I see dams to navigate and winding curves where water had worn a path of least existence....and mabe more turbulence here and there....but never an end......

Time. What is it? Do animals care what time it is? They may know that the worms come out in the morning. So they might know approximately what time to get to the grass. Of course, they know if it is night or day. Time as we know it is only a human concept. Thank yo for sharing

Such a thoughtful reflection using the metaphor of the river for life as it flows with is unpredictable bends. It's true we have to let go of dreams "of early years" but I like the optimism of the last verse that looks ahead to "dreams renewed with hope."
