I can't imagine giving this anything less than six stars. It is not only beautifully put together, but it truly speaks to my heart. It has the emotion portrayed with such skill, creating a work of art that is a genuine pleasure to read. I loved everything about it. It couldn't be better.

The rose is a very romantic flower, but it takes a poet like yourself to expose it. Well thought out and nicely written. I like your narrative storytelling voice personality. Sly fox you. Great story in a poem. Nice work.

Nicely articulated. I like the rhyme and rhythm. It flows nicely. As the poem unfolds so does the story. Its very telling. It reads well and is fast paced and clever. Well done.

I've read this a few times because it is so pleasing in its journey, only to give the punch at the end. I love the play on 'kid gloves' which dangles before the reader to 'get' and how your scan pattern is true to the form. I particularly admire:
'Her petals fall, her heart's exposed,'

And the secret of the Rose is so obvious of its smell of its beauty of his Splendor when it's open up it captivates the mind because of its very appearance. I thank you for sharing about the roles and the different facets of it the rose picture is very nice as well thank you again

Hi, Mary. I wish that there was an easy way of viewing reviews in reverse order! This, along with several others, has been buried beneath an incoming tide caused by my having posted three or four poems in quick succession! Apologies for the delay in responding.
