So elegant Ms. KT and by the way congratulations on your 7 word win. Oh theses beautiful field of purple flowers which is my favorite color. You are so brilliant with this form of poetry with the selective syllables and words , I would have to practice this. But I applaud your exquisite romantic moments in the field of forget-me-nots

Wow, how do you manage to do everything in that order and style? Very nice, and the poem reads beautifully, lovely imagery and flow. I have no suggestions for improvement and think it is a lovely work I'd recommend to others for review, Ana.

    Hello Ana!
So pleased you enjoyed my sestina.
It is a puzzling challenge to pen one of these, but also very rewarding if and when they come together!
Thank you for your excellent rating and complimentary review!

This is an interesting concept of poetry. Seems hard but you make it look easy. I like the way it compliments each stanza. I find nothing wrong. Thanks for sharing you contest results,

Sestinas are everyone's "cup of tea," but I find them challenging and rewarding to pen...if they work! :)

Firstly congratulations on winning the "lovepoem" competition. This beautiful, romantic poem
Certainly deserves it. The demensia situation is so scarey but this was told in such a way that it didn't seem so bad.Take care. Love Jen.

This is a very well written romantic poem. It reminds me of the beginning, and end of the notebook. In the beginning he is trying to get her to remember their young love, and in the end they.pass away in each others arms, after she remembers life with him.

This is a beautiful love story and unfortunately how a terrible disease can rob you of your wonderful memories. Memories of love ones and a lifetime of happiness. So sad but so beautifully written. Congratulations on a most deserved win. GOD Bless

This sestina, Of Memory's Touch and Forget-Me-Nots, has melted me down to a puddle with the sadness and beauty in what is a slice of an Alzheimer's couple's life. Your depiction of the scene, working it into an important remembrance, works to accentuate the powerful ending. Masterful!

    Oh my goodness, Bill!
I am so honored by your exceptional rating and heartfelt review. My mother suffered from dementia, brought on by Parkinson's disease and other maladies. The worst part was the anger and frustration that also surrounded the ravages of dementia. Just heartbreaking to witness my parents' demise...
So pleased that my poem resonated with you, Bill

this is wonderful! sestina form can be so clumsy, but yours is seemingly effortless. you really captured the spirit in everlasting love. anyone blessed to know it treasures it. I'm sorry I don't have any 6stars left, so i'll probably bring your average down with this 5star. sorry...again wonderful...meeshu

This melancholy, poignant piece read so smoothly and was so engaging I never even noticed the repetitive words used.
It's a beautiful, fanciful poem dripping with sugary sweet sentiment, vivid imagery, and reminiscence.
Alzheimer's is such a monster of a disease--a robber of memories, a thief of happiness.
This is beautifully well written and what I perceive love--true love--to be really all about.

    Hello Dean!
Now you know what wrote this sestina!
I am always so pleased when you stop by.
Alzheimer's is, indeed, a "monster of a disease." When coupled with other infirmities, it can cause palpable anger as well...I left that part out, as that came later, but was gut-wrenching to witness and absorb...

Thank you for your excellent and thoughtful review...

My father has regressed into the latter stages, Diane.
I know all too well--more than I care to know--about this dreadful disease.
    You're more than welcome.

Sending you positive energy and patience, Dean.
My mother's dementia was also coupled with a plethora of infirmities. But her long term memory stayed vibrant, and I cherished those times with her when she and I would venture down those roads together... diane

Memories and forget-me-nots, how two things were made for each other. This prose poem, if I can call it so, had all the ingredients of such. Beautiful emotion.
Good luck in the competition.

Best wishes.
