Just as I suspected. You are a lover of the classics, masquerading as a regular Joe. You sir, have been unmasked. This poem is so unlike most of what you write, that I am surprised the 'Site Admins' did not ask you to prove that this is your original composition. LOL. Good job.

I love it and thanks for the run down on who's who. It works well the way you brought the plot into the 21st century. Clicked on this one because I had never written an acrostic. Now I will have to try one. --Stan

Shakespeare in a nutshell, told well and rhymes perfectly. I like your abbreviated version which is so entertaining. Image is super. Thank you for the "cheat sheet." Marilyn

Kate was a feminist, ahead of her time. Too bad she had to be tamed. Love the rhyme in this and the way you bring in the characters from "Taming of the Shrew." I like the way you handle the ending, with all parties scoring, as it should be in a comedy. Glad you focused on the human shrews in this one. judi

You're very welcome. I looked back to the movie where John Wayne spanked the heroine (Maureen O'Hara maybe). That would definitely not be acceptable behavior nowadays. judi

I like your shrews they're lots of fun
Been watching them since number one
But in the list of pollywogs
I cannot find a word on Frogs
Now surely you could find a rhyme
About green things that live in slime.
That croak all night and eat their young
And catch their prey on a very long tongue.
Ah but do I catch your gist?
Perhaps they're further down the list
Of slithering, sliding, slippery things
I'll wait to see what the next lot brings.
Perhaps of flea or slug or snail
Your future verses may entail
No-one knows but you my friend
Where will all this nonsense end?
Dear Bill, I hope this "nonsense" will go on for a good long while yet. I was just looking for a final rhyme. cheers Cass

Good one. My daughter was in two Shakespearean plays in school: Midsummer Night's Dream and MacBeth. I learned to appreciate his writing, which bored me in high school. I guess I needed some life experience to enjoy it.

That?s a great observation about how life experience helps us understand the actions in these plays. Thanks for giving this a look. I?m behind on the Hampton?s story, but will get back to it today.

Such a great tribute to Shakespeare and his play. Though I am not a big fan of Shakespeare, he does have his right in the great world of writing. Great picture, love the golden essence. Sherman541
