Brilliant piece--you had me at "dreaded menopause" and held my attention straight through! This unconventional teacher is ingenious--the interaction with William is compelling. Stunning chapter!

I haven't read any of the rest but this was both interesting and informative. One thing surprised me, as a teacher, and that was that she locked the room with just herself and the student in the room. Here we are discouraged from being alone in a room with a student, and doors must be open in order for no allegations to be possible and for complete transparency. Well written.

Thank you so much for reviewing and your great comments. Happy New Year's. I guess it was the time of the situation involved, they were adults.

Good story of values and communication. Young people are so clueless when it comes to sexuality and your advice is spot on. I remember an eighty-year old comedian wearing a cardigan sweater walking on stage before a much younger crowd. He said, "I know what you're thinking. Do I and my wife still have sex. Yes, we do but, we leave the light off and it's not for the reason you think. We just don't like looking at purple feet."

Personal experience, rightly shared in this fiction, human values uplifting, life is for living, good and bad time come, patience is a good virtue, we have to appreciate and show courtesy and help as it is feasible; lives are not same to everyone, you must believe and do whatever you can; decisiveness at every point of living is the need; well said, well done; keep writing. This is interesting. I have learnt a lot about male menopause. I hope you will intertwine more of these educational topics into your book.

Well done.

This is such a fabulous chapter, Alie! I wish many more people had read this book. Not only do we have the wonderful news for William but you gave information about the menopause changes for both men and women which everyone should know about. Great job!

Some comments:

grosser than yesterdays' delivery. (yesterday's)
Tell then that you understand the changes (Tell them?)

what fate has planned for you. And what is wrong with adopting. (Suggest question marks instead of periods after the sentences above)

This is a well written and interesting chapter to your book. You've handled controversial topics (menopause, sex education, and drugs) in a clever way through the classroom support of Mrs. Armstrong. Indeed, a caring and stellar teacher. Marilyn

The elderly stats surprised me - just about the STD's. My mentor was talking about sex a few months ago. I said, "You mean people your age still do it?!" I had no idea.
LOL Those boys are all very fortunate that those test results were negative.

LOL, It surprises a lot of people, I guess other systems wear out but they still manage sex. Thank you Mel for reviewing, I appreciate your comments.

A happy ending to this little crisis anyway. I have a theory as to why we senior citizens are most likely to be involved in the transmission of STD. The pill arrived in the mid nineteen sixties and although STD other than HIV/AIDS was around then it was mainly transmitted via what was euphemistally called "professional contact". Consequently the 1970s were one glorious summer for those youngsters who are now senior citizens.

All the girls were on the pill and free love was the order of the day, for something like 18 years condom free sex was was all the rage and when the idea of safe sex came around we didn't like it.

Well that's my theory anyway.

A couple of minor grammatical errors here.

"... you are more familiar to the symptoms than you think." Familiar 'with' rather than 'to' is the correct way.

"... monthly curse, as it is called." This is not necesarilly the case with everybody so 'as it is sometimes called' or 'as it may be called' are probably better alternatives.

That was a good observation and a very good theory. You have to remember as well that at least on this side of the ocean, when seniors went to assisted living facilities or nursing home there was an increase in hanky panky, they didn't have to worry about pregnancy so it was happy times. Also sadly there was a lot of raping happening especially with the mentally challenged and bed bound female residents. Thanks for reviewing and for your great comments, I will fix those shortly.
