Enjoyed that book in high school but never ventured to re-read it! I'll be the spelling nitpicker about names again: Pequod not Piquod and Ishmael not Ismael unless you prefer a more Arabic spelling. Poor Ahab's men. So many Ahabs in the world still making life miserable...

Here?s my excuse for the spelling errors. I spelled both wrong as I went through, but editing on my iPad is maddening so I figured I?d take the hit and save my sanity.

You completely have my sympathies. I swear my ancient iPad sometimes even "corrects" things I've typed to something totally different and bizarre! So just let me know if I should just not comment on spelling.

Hi Bill. A whale of an acrostic on Moby Dick. Rhyming included within. I enjoyed reading this new poem that tells the tale in abbreviated form. Poem flows well. Marilyn

Ahab certainly had a deadly obsession. He was so driven to pursue the whale as if it were the devil. Ishmael is left to tell the tale, and he certainly narrated a great story. I like your "Salty Seamen" alliteration. That reminds me of a local artist who lived nearby who was called Salty Seaman. His first actually was Omar. He painted lots of pictures of the sea. Great reminder of "Moby Dick" in your poem. judi

This makes a great synopsis of the book. I know whaling was a staple back then for some many things.
Ahab paid a price for his obsession. You painted a vivid picture with your words.

Very good. I like how you did that. This poem was well conceived and the tale was told quite well. When you do work like this you frighten me. Because of the irreverent stuff you do most often, one might not know that you are actually a pretty good writer with decent skills. Bravo.

I really like this one. A melancholy little reflexion of this famous tale and it's characters. Great wording throughout, good emotion and mood.
