Hi easyeverett1

This is a very poignant apposite poem of an experience that is too often glossed over when people talk of war or starting them. the barbarity is made plain by your words which should ring daily in the ears of the sociopaths who either ignore this or dont give two hoots about it.

If we all were to know the true horrors of war as intimately as we should, we'd never vote for anyone who didnt first seek for peace at all costs

A dramatic poetic description of millions of children around the world. Nothing available for them; even alien to the concept of coins. These children are just numbers...maybe not even numbers The affluent world cares not about them. The poet depicts very boldly the struggle of this child who cannot entertain a focused thought. A world of suffering creates minimal notice that thousands of children join daily in the fatal luck of.the children residing in rancid streets. A very touching poem. Worth hundreds of stars!!!!!

Just wow. This poem is so powerful and heart-wrenching. The descriptions are so vivid and superb and, as a result, evoke strong emotions from the reader. You effectively and powerfully speak of a sad and horrendous reality... this is a very well-written piece that cuts straight to the heart. I wish I had a 6 to give this. And you are so right... it's the innocent children that suffer the most. Lord forgive us.

Save the Children are always seeking sponsorship for them. I always intend to donate again, but the constant emails from them put me off.
I enjoyed your piece though it exudes the cruelty they face.

Your writing is stark and riveting. Your words paint such clear pictures, I fairly cringe when reading. You have immense skill. Have a good weekend. Karen

Tragically beautiful poem which is sadly so true for so many children in the world today. It's good to be reminded how privileged we are in life when many others aren't as lucky.

As a kid, I remember watching commercials about starving children in Ethiopia. Your poem brought that all back. You've done an excellent job of describing a completely horrendous and hopeless situation. More so the tragedy because it is a child. Makes one stop and think. Thank you for sharing! Julie

I agree it is always the children that suffer the most in war.

Your poetic words make us aware that the innocent have no chance against the weapons of the world.

best, JohnC

Such a haunting piece. Breaks one's heart thinking about the innocent children left behind in times of war. I see you posted this in January 2017. Has this been reposted by you? I'm relatively new to this site, and don't understand all the ins and outs.
Write on!
