This was fun to get the background history on Mrs. Armstrong. (I'm guessing this is you?) Now we know the connection with Mrs. Trenton. I was a little confused when it was Mrs. Armstrong telling her story and the mention of the different rows sharing. I guess nothing was shared of the students' stories. So glad that she ran into her high school teacher!
Suggestions:
When I started is was as a nursing aide (remove "is")
No where in the state had a LPN (Nowhere)

Thank you so much Helene for reading, reviewing and your great comments. I will fix those in a moment. Yes, it was me, very early on in my nursing career, lol, but I wrote it as a fiction.

Hi Aryr, so sorry you lost your husband and your daughter moved out the same year. That had to be so tough on you! I'm a little late with this one, but catching up on reviews.

Thanks so much Mel for reviewing. We were actually prepared for my daughter to leave for school and then my husband was diagnosed and we went through our choices and he decided to be comfortable for whatever time was left and we had a great 3 months. It was a long time ago and that's how I know it gets easier every year. The hardest part was five years later when my daughter married, fortunately we had a dear family friend who was an uncle to her to walk her down the aisle and she carried a picture of her dad inside her glove. Hey my friend just take your time, one day at a time. (smile) Blessings.

Alie,

The more I read, the more I feel that this is a sort of auto-biography. Am I right? I am still finding the story interesting. Nice work.

Some notes:
1.) "Let's see, where shall I begin(?)

2.) When I started (it) was as a nursing aide in a nursing home.

Thanks so much!

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing Robyn. Shhh don't tell anyone lol, I have figured out there is more interest in fiction etc rather that biography, but it is fun sharing.

After I had been teaching school for ten years the wind of change blew through our education system in UK and the National Curriculum was introduced. As a primary school teacher I had always enjoyed a considerable degree of autonomy as to how I should go about teaching. I always believed, like you here, I think, that the concept of the "red herring" didn't exist. If you were any good at your job you should be able to turn a class's side-track back into a learning experience.

The National Curriculum changed all that and everything became highly regimented. I left. It is good to meet up with someone who not only shares that view but can make it work.

Wow, what a challenge that would have been for you and I am sure that when you left they meaning the school was feeling some regrets. When the rules over take the teaching it is probably time to let go. Thank you so much for reviewing.

this is a sensitive rendition of this scenario, which concludes with such a happy ending. Very well written, with suspense until the end, but I would have added a photo more in affinity with your excellent narration.

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing, I really appreciate your comments. I guess because it is a chapter in a book I didn't think about doing individual pictures but its a good thought.
