Not a bad story. I've seen the rumors of Oprah running as well. It could be interesting to see who all may pop up to run for the presidency now that we've witnessed it possible for a non-politician to win. Good luck in the contest.

There were some good candidates I think before the primaries. We just never heard about the others running besides these two. Trump was elected only because the media spent so much time on him, we never heard about those who were truly qualified. I quit watching TV of any sort 2 years ago, the election coverage was making me sick. I voted, not for anyone, but against someone. Well written. Best wishes in the contest, my friend~Debbie

By what you wrote you did the right thing in not voting. Trump won because people with no understanding of government or politician' s history voted for the star of the apprentice.

I respect your opinion and beliefs which were shared effectively in this post. But as a Christian I am inclined to believe that Donald Trump is the modern Cyrus in the Bible. You may not like it, but reading the verses have given me a fresh look at Trump who is always maligned by the elitist and Leftist media who don't believe in God and Jesus. Oprah believes that Jesus is just one of the ways to enter heaven and that is negating Jesus as the only way to life. Thanks for sharing your thoughts in this post. Good luck in the contest.

It is a shame that a poor, honest, upstanding citizen can not run for president. Why? One needs to be rich to afford the luxury of being nominated. I voted but it was the lesser of two evils that I chose. Thanks for sharing, hopefully in the next election there will be a candidate worthy of your vote.

I sympathize with your apathy, and I think you are 100% right. But the problem is people. people are corrupt, and my guess is, their corruption will continue no matter who is in office. Right now, our government is controlled by the rich and powerful, the big international corporations. But when was that not true? Here we are 5,000 years later with the same problems we had then. Selfish people muscling each other out of the way to get more for themselves. People blaming others for their own problems and shortcomings. Everybody looking around and saying I'm worth more than the next guy. we've tried capitalism, socialism, communism, fascism, monarchies. Nothing works. My hope now is in Jesus coming back and sorting it all out. Then a lot of people are going to be in for a big surprise because in heaven, its the people who serve others who are held in high regard, and everything operates on faith, not money. estory
