This cinquain, Old Red Barn, has the right setup and takes our thoughts to the days when this old barn was already old and we were young. There was the cleaning out of stalls, feeding chickens, slopping hogs, and emptying the rat traps.

It's a simply divine place to be. Farm Life! Never simple and yet the end of the day if we got lucky feels like winning the biggest lotto ever! Really enjoyed this one and it gets my vote. Good luck. xoxo Kiwi

Old bans intrigue me. This is nicely written, short, sweet and to the point. Some much can be said in such few woods. The picture is perfect for the poem, Good luck in the contest. God bless. Janie

A write full of memories of what has been and the remnants of the barn left in decay now as time has moved on, an insight into the past, good luck in 2018, love Dolly x

Living on a farm myself as I do, I could completely relate to this post, Anonymous Poet.
Sure, city life does have its advantages. Everything is little more than a stone's throw away.
But for me, the disadvantages far outweigh the advantages.
Farm work is hard work, that's true.
But I believe it also builds character.
Good entry.
Best of luck in the contest.
Happy New Year.

This is a very well written Cinquain poem you have penned for the Behind the Door writing prompt. You used very good wording that goes well with the art work. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

In its brevity, this poem reflects life on a farm and family history. The imagery is vivd enough to take the reader to behind the doors of a barn. Given I lived in the city all my life, i am clueless to farm life. However, this poem introduced me.

Thank you for sharing and good luck in the contest. Happy New Year!
