This poem, Two Birds, puts us in the tree watching birds do some quality parenting and nurturing. The show is promised to continue in the next generation. Housing costs remain unchanged. Nice poem.

Were you talking about Hummingbirds Shirley? That must have been very interesting. Yes, some birds do return to the same nests if they can. Some chicks return to the place they were born. According to the species. Interesting Dear. I hope they do return. Well done. Nancy

    Hi Nancy,
    Thank you.
No, I live in Australia and they were honeyeaters.
They build a new nest each year and very close to a nectar supply.
They usually begin just before buds open so when the chicks hatch there is a ready food supply.

This is beautifully crafted. The rhyming words are expansive and never trite. You do have a 'birds eye' view and it has inspired these verses. Thank you for the privilege of reading your poem. GSmuse (Gwendolyn)

Anyone who has ever had the PRIVILEGE of watching birds build their nest and create their family will love this poem. You do a lovely job of showing the reader the many stages: building the nest, laying the eggs, the chicks hatching and needing feeding, and finally their flying away. An easy cadence will make this poem appealing to young readers, too. Rod

You have captured this amazing event in your well written poem.
A story well told, well rhymed, good rhythm.
Nicely done.
And the picture is fabulous.

A very well-written poem. I love to watch the birds in my garden too. Their nest is right outside my dining room window and keeps me busy for hours watching them do the things you describe in your poem.

What a wonderful story of one of the nature's wonders unfolding before your eyes. The imagery in the words and rhyming used is excellent and expresses perfectly your love of the natural world. I enjoyed it a lot. I too had the privilege of watching two humming birds build their nest outside my kitchen window as I watched them raise their two young to maturity.

Thank you

Eugene
