Flawlessly written, Dawn. You brought me to a harsh reality from long ago. I don't think I'd be able to let my child be a part of a plan that would take him much too early but she did and carried that burden from the day He was born.

So sorry for the delay, and for the cut & paste reply - big problems with my laptop for over a week. Thanks very much for your kind review, and for your understanding!

I like the fact that this asks the reader if they would do the same under similar circumstances. This gives readers with secular leanings access to the work. It is descriptive enough not to need the picture, and has the necessary rhythm (for me) to make it an easy read

One question remains unanswered by evolutionists, is..."Doesn't evolution suggest that things progress from disorder to order, how come regression?" When God gave us a perfect world, and man's hideous nature is aqueezing the life out of it. (I can't excuse myself!) what are we doing? This is beautiful work my friend Dawn, delicately written in prime, language rich verse, composed in smooth in heptametric aabb rhymed beauty, well done, blessings, Roy

Happy dancing - I'm not here a lot lately, so it's even more special to me that I'm here when you are. Thank you SO MUCH, Roy - I'm honored by this incredibly encouraging, generous review - thank you! Blessings to you and yours also, dear friend.
-
Well earned, and good to enjoy your work again dear girl. Roy
-
Many, many thanks, Roy! XX
-
Always welcome Dawn
-
Thank you, Roy - sorry I am so late responding. For some reason the internet has cut out on me after only a minute or two, since Saturday. Hopefully, it's fixed now.

We get similar here sometimes Sawn

The joys of technology - lol.
-
Hah hah.
-
Grrrrrr...in resolving my internet problem (cleaning some junk off my PC), I seem to have 'cleaned' a program that I need! YIKES!!! (LOL - joy, joy!)
-
Sorry Dawn, what one might call, "unprofitable" cleaning.
Comment from Margaret Snowdon
This is simply beautiful - there's no other word for it, Dawn.
The content, the flow to the words and both rhythm and rhyme,
all flowing smoothly.
All in all, most impressive and a real treat to open up to.
Good luck with the contest - you must have a winner here.
Thought I'd pop in for a while. I've recovered well enough, but get remarkably tired easily.

Margaret, please, please be careful - you know I love you, and I need my friends! I am overjoyed that you are recovering so well, but if you are anything like me, we tend to underplay our weaknesses. Take good care of yourself (and tell Colin I said to be STRICT with you! TELL him - promise! LOL)
As always, Margaret, I am so humbled and honored - this review from one so talented! Thank you very much. Rest and get well, lovely friend! xx
-
Thank you, dear Dawn - Colin and I will take good care of each other. I'm still dizzy and was pulled to the floor this morning, but the hosp couldn't find anything wrong with my head altho it's all prickly again. So strange and frightening.
-
Oh dear - Margaret, I hope you will rest. I know I have felt awful, and as one who no longer sleeps as I used to in recent years (8 hours/night), a couple of months back I suddenly had to sleep most of 24 hours! For days! 16-18 hours/day! I think sleep is more important than we realize - all I know is, that went on for about a week, and suddenly I was back to normal. (I suffer dizzy spells occasionally too.) What you are describing WOULD be frightening, and I honestly don't think medical tests catch everything. You've been working again, and I think you should rest. That's just a guess, of course, but it can't hurt...? Much love, and prayers. I am going to prayer group today, and will ask for extra prayers for you. XXOO
-
Thank you, Dawn - it must be even worse when on your own - I'll include you in my prayers - with all the trouble in the world today, my prayers list is getting longer and longer - but I believe in the power of prayer - my brother has been gradually fading away with cancer/morphine injections each day for pain - and I've kept him constantly in my prayers - at the weekend he phoned to tell me it's in remission - how wonderful is that?? Praise the Lord. hugs, Margaret
-
Hallelujah - that's wonderful, Margaret! A true miracle! I believe in the power of prayer too. I know it is what brought me through my cancer surgery in 2000. Hugs right back!

These are questions we ask ourselves. First would we say yes like Mary did to having the baby that would change everything for humankind and be able to cope with knowing all along that she would have to lose him at a young age. Or to be able to accept being sacrificed for others like Jesus did.
Good luck and keep writing

A very well-written Christmas poem. Indeed we have to stand still for a moment and think about the child in the manger that was born to save us from sin, and yet we do not easily believe in His Word we rather look for answers elsewhere.

Excellent choice of "soundtrack" and firm aabb rhymes. As a troubleshooter, that star intrigues me. Was there an angel with a lamp at treetop height, or how would a truly stellar event lead the magi to a small town in Palestine? Come on, Paul Harvey, tell us "The rest of the story." Fivers for a fine post.

A profound and most provocative inquiry and refection you pose here dear Dawn!
Considering the sad state of indifference and suspicions in our current trends
in society and apathetic inclinations, skeptics would likely first look for
devious motives Mary may have had for sacrificing her only son, This
perpetually mysterious event known as Christmas, has lasted through centuries
since, the guiding star, birth of Jesus in a lowly manger, etc holds sacred
its meaning, purpose and perpetuity through the ages. Possibly some
scientists may cry foul for lack of 'proof'. And sadly, too Christmas has
become so 'commercialized' by greedy retailers, etc. and so eerily seems
humankind has indeed regressed instead of evolved more worthily
and gratefully.
This is a direly needed wake up call to conscience and humanity!
Perfect for Christmas Story contest and stunning presentation indeed.
Thanks for sharing...best of luck in contest!
Blessings, Ronni
