Oh, how I wish I had a six to adorn this delightfully satisfying tanka! I relished the mood and felt transported back to childhood's "innocence". I admired your "kaleidoscopes" imagery and bits of alliteration, plus the sensibility of the final line. Best wishes in the contest and here's to "fairy dust" filled dreams- Joan

Thanks for the great review. Glad you liked it.

This poem shows awe at remembered moments and loss of the age that one was when those moments occurred, good turn in the middle of the poem. Enjoyable read. Love the artwork, too.

THANK YOU FOR THE KIND REVIEW.

Oooh what a lovely poem filled with fairy dust moments and I particularly loved your vivid description in the second line
dancing in kaleidoscopes
That conjures up wonderful imagery and I must say it would be nice to embellish adulthood with a bit of that childlike innocence sometimes.
Oh to be young again haha
Loved!
Cheers P

tHANK YOU FOR THE KIND REVIEW.

Reality can be fine as long as you keep one foot in the real world while the other foot's in a fairy tale. There's always a part of me that believes in love and the fairy tale. These ideas are never lost to me. Thanks for your interesting poem

Hello my friend
A nice tanka about childhood memories. The pivot line=childhood memories, doesn't connect to the top part of the tanka...or at least I don't see it. Good job over all

Well written, in so few words it took me back to how wonderful and magical it was to be a child without a worry in the world and how those carefree days get lost in life's struggles.
Great pic too!
Cheers!

A very well-written Tanka. Our childhood is lost forever physically but mentally we can still recall moments of that child to take us back for a short while in remembrance.

I think we all had kaleidoscopes when we were little. Isn't that a staple in childhood? Or one of those view finder things that would take you to see any animal you could ever imagined. Those were the good toys. Great job

THANK YOU FOR REVIEWING.

You draw an excellent parallel between a child's kaleidoscope and reality. A kaleidoscope embellishes what is real and presents it as something more and interesting.
