This is very nicely composed. Your story is interesting, gives a sense of sacrifice, selflessness and honor for Veterans Day. Much luck in the contest with this fine entry. Marilyn

Thank you so much for reading and praising my short-short, Marilyn. I was truly surprised I could tell this story in only 100 words. Usually I struggle to write one less than 500. Rod

A very well-written hundred word flash fiction with a great story that turned out sad. But when we served well we will.always be honored no matter how much the circumstances changed.

We should always remember our Wounded Warriors and give them the respect they so rightfully deserve.
While this particular story may be a work of fiction, scenarios just like the one depicted in your well written short play out on high school and college athletic fields all across the country.
Nice job with this! You got my vote.

Ths is an excellent tribute. I wish professional football players could act so honorably. It's a disgrace to see ungrateful thugs being paid millions of dollars to play a game.

A good 100 word story.
You've stayed within the guidelines, told a story, and it has a surprise ending.
Well done and good luck to you with the competition.

This is a fine 100 word dash story. You lead the reader to imagine one thing about a football player and then you surprise the reader with a twist ending:
"Ready, sir?"
I smiled. "Take me out, Corporal."
I waved jubilantly as he pushed my wheel chair to the center of the field.
The story I gathered from this was that Captain Allen Pierson was a quarterback. He went off to war and got injured to the point that he is now in a wheelchair. He returns to his high school for a game on Veteran's Day where a new group of boys on his old team play to win for him. This is a patriotic, and well crafted story that remind me of the honors that schools give former students who became soldiers. This shows that the team, the school, and the town has a big heart and appreciation of their veterans.
This is a fine entry on Veteran's Day. I wish you much success with your entry.
