This is an interesting piece. I was not sure what it all meant until I read your statement at the bottom. I was surprised by the depth. This is a very thoughtful poem.

too true ... i used the fruit monkey after I heard a old hospital acquaintance shouting about them. A real experience about them from a couple who lived in Africa ... the monkeys used to eat the oranges of the trees but they only took a bit or two then discarded it moving on to the next one and as you can guess very soon the whole crop gets ruined. They thought thats how the expression cheeky monkey came about. So from one cheeky monkey to another much obliged and many thanks ... do I get to wear a dress ?

I must admit the poem would have stumped me without your author notes. But since you put the author notes in, I decided to look deeper into this poem. I find more metaphor. The monkeys (the animals, wild and untamed, fruit possibly cherries), Daffy Duck (daffy as in dumb, inexperienced or foolish, and a sitting duck), ain't it a shame (the victim's feelings versus the brushing off of the incident by others), was it all just a game (the lack of caring by the perpetrators and society as a whole). Interesting.

Thank you ... It's a surreal way of discovering the abilities of story telling it's called free-verse. The poem is for real and I am glad you would have been stumped because thats its intention the reason i put the notes in was for a little eye opener. Glad you like thank you.

This speaks about a mock rape or human abuse committed for fun and amusement and not for serious offences even it appears impossible it is true they all did playfully; I liked.
