Hi, Easy;
After reading the poem, and then reading your Author notes, I realized I was in awe that anyone could write a piece that reflects the sometimes morbid thoughts that run through my head.
And then, I found out you were on 'shrooms. I laughed out loud and reminded myself it was only 2:30 am, so I needed to quiet down.

Great rhymes and meter. This long poem hit's its mark. Majic mushrooms. I guess they worked. I'm surprised you still remember the words. For that matter, I'm surprised you remember anything.

LOL. Hell Thomas, old codgers like me remember everything from decades ago, it's just trying to find the damn bathroom in the morning that trips us up. Great review my friend and fortunately I saved poems from those days because I knew those lazy, crazy days would be abandoned as I matured but I still wanted to remember the rather outrageous times I participated in when a youthful acolyte of the "love generation."

In my opinion, the adherence to and almost perfect rhyme redeems this work for me. It appears as an explosion of thoughts, disenfranchised, yet symbolic somehow. The construction and presentation are dramatic, and the smooth meter of the piece suggests a worthy read...

and I especially enjoyed: "perfect rhyme REEDEMS"..."thoughts
DISENFRANCHISED" "yet symbolic SOMEHOW" They reminded me
of a high school chum trying to fix me up with a girl I didn't know and when I ask him to tell me about her he kind of looked
at his feet for a few seconds and said: "Hey Tom, she has one
hell of a personality" LOL. Fantastic and very enjoyable review

some interesting imagery here. the pace of this is fairly quick and really draws the reader through at a fast clip.
It fairly jumps about a bit as well. Having read the notes I can why... lol

LOL. Ah, to be young again and headin' down Mexico way for one
more load before I have to be in Palo Alto, Calif. to begin classes
for the fall semester. I think I am lucky I saved most of my scribbles from those days because as you so gently stated: "It

I can see where those dreaded cryptic crosswords come in handy when it comes to "reading" this well written work. The well structured rhyme has some fo great couplet rhyming, with enough variation in form and alliterative language to introduce that change of mood and aesthetic flavour. It quite definitely reflects the language of the time. Well done, beautifully written, in esoterially designed mystery, well done, good reading, blessings, Roy
