Hi, JanPerry
= Congrats on the win! Well deserved. This is an excellent encapsulation of Joan D'arc's sacrifice for God and country.
= Certainly inhumane judgment and persecution in those days.
Cheers, J

Dear Mystery Writer,
Very interesting story of meeting Joan through your dreams. A much better way of meeting her than having her pop out of the past to visit you in person, I think. *smile* That would be more than a little bit scary, I think. ha!
A small note:
1.) before it's too late, my Joan(,)" I cry out, leaving no doubt
Thanks and good luck!

This is a very interesting, well-written, educational story about Joan of Arch. I too agree she was a hero, a brave leader. For her to do all she did in that day and age took a lot of courage. To hold on her faith through the end shows her devotion to god. Great entry, good luck on your contest.

Hi there,
You did a good job with this piece, getting in a lot about Joan and the times.
The dark ages during 1400 to 1500 in France- using the term 'dark ages' from a historical point of view would be inaccurate as they ended between years 800-1000, but that's semantics here.
The pithy board of directors sentenced her to death by burning - I'm not sure pithy is the best choice of words here (meaning having substance and point). Petty may be a better choice.
as she is being lead to the stage - led in this instance.
The hypocrisy of the Middle Ages - here you use middle ages where before you use dark ages. I get you didn't capitalise dark ages early on but the reference is still there. You could change it to dark times perhaps?
have all lead her to a place of extreme - in this instance it should be led.
All the best

O.M.G. I am truly traumatized after reading your entry for the Joan D'arc contest.
Thank goodness we don't live in such barbaric times. I wish you luck in the competition.

A very informative prose writing on Joan D'arc. You have made her seem very personal and understandable as a heroine.
Your description of her pain and torture was very realistic, as well as her deliverance to a better place.
Thank you for the time and effort you put into this writing,
and good luck in contest,
Rhonda

The church was a cruel and hellish place in those days. There was no Christianity there. Their love of torture ranked among the top of all the worst monsters before and since. The church has a lot to answer for and one day they will. Excellent contest entry. Good luck! :) Sandra xx

Yes I'm shocked by the level of cruelty. But there was a high death rate from diseases as well back then.

Good overview of Joan's story. It certainly was a horrific time when she lived. The Dark Ages were filled with harsh control by one church, which allowed no "heresy" as it saw even unproven rumors. We're dealing with fanatical Islam now, but at least people are more knowledgeable in general and not as superstitious. Except for those Muslims who have been raised with NO knowledge of anything but the Koran.
Religion should be a help to people, giving them strength and hope. But it seems like too often religion turns evil, the opposite of what it ought to be.

It seems to bring out evil as opposed to saint like behavior. Perhaps the severe restrictions religions uphold are the cause for concern.

WOW you were in a 1st place tie with someone else, but now this thumbs up launched you into 1st place by yourself. Hope you maintain 1st place lead. Your story is amazingly detailed of horrible terrors and evil doings of people in high authority. You paint vivid pictures of barbaric sick demon-like people in this era. Makes me angry. After contest tell me who you are. Hope you win. Again, this thumbs up launched you into 1st place by yourself. Check me out, also. lol liberty justice

Did you know six million women died in Europe due to being called witches? Omg! Talk about myogenic men. Ouch!

WOW What a sick country! I wonder why women were considered witches a lot more than men were. Well this world is still sick, but not as sick huh? lol liberty justice
