Hello Brett:
I love how you give us just enough to keep us wondering. Reading your books is just like watching a TV mystery with all of the commercials in between and sometimes we have to wait for the next episode for a day or so.
This story is very well written, Brett. I am certainly enjoying it. I will be reading the rest of your post today as the day continues. I should be all caught up tonight, so far, so good.

Awesome! I'm giving you a six. I'm sorry I haven't been on too much, lately, just a lot going on in my personal life.
Keep up the entertaining writing.

Glad you enjoyed this chapter.
Sometimes life does get in the way of writing, so need to apologize. That is fully understood.

Oh yes very nicely done and adding information without actually giving anything away is done so nicely. Adding to the descriptions of the boy, one is led to believe he did not do it.

Trust old school Miller to blame in on the internet and violent movies. That Drew was naked when arrested suggests that he might be under the spell of some evil entity in the house.

This is chapter three of your new book, so I'm coming into the story "cold." However, you notes and cast of characters give the reader enough information to put together the gist of the situation. Interesting with good character development and details that seem natural. Dialogue is believable. Marilyn

This reads easily and there are some nice touches.
I liked "her small, warm, eggshell white clapboard house" and Marjorie's suspicion of the Internet and belief that Darden could guard youngsters against predators there. The nice, homely baking contrasts with the shocking crime that is under investigation. Then it hits us: "It was there Drew Larsen sat naked on the swing awaiting the arrival of the Police after the bloodbath". Quite an image!

Interesting touch here with Marjorie offering what might, just might, be the first clue to what turned Drew's mind.
The murders of 20 years previously keep cropping up and I am intrigued by the parallels

Well done again, mate. Making good progress and I look forward to some solution down the road. I wonder if the boy found the murders and for some warped reason took responsibility himself.

I'm still enjoying this story. It's such a sad tale of a young boy turning into the type of monster that would be capable of the massacre he has admitted to. I feel that detective Darden is going the " extra mile" to ensure that Drew is not unjustly sentenced for the murders. Great story line and it just flows nicely. PM
