Dennis, this one of the funniest dialogs I've read since your one about the renter who you kicked out who left the gas stove opened.

A lot of the entries are crazy! I thought folks would take the writing prompt seriously. Oh, well. But what would have happened if Ahab found out about all of the celebrity males who would play him in the movies, but only if the story turned out as Melville wrote it? Would he decide to continue his quest to gain literary immortality?

umm, his quest was to find the accursed whale, which he did...and like a lot of people, he found achieving a goal in life was not what he thought it would be. Thanks for the review!

Deniz,

This was awesome! It came up last in my voting options and by then I was growing a bit worried about the options. Only one had even moderately piqued my interest. Then came you. *smile*

Thanks so much for a piece that resonated of the time, the true feel of the character of Ahab, of great creativity AND fun. I thought it was terrific! You definitely get my vote.

Only one small thing. I didn't get Ahab's line "Through?"

Thanks, again! Good luck!

Through...meaning "Are you through? Is that all you have to say?" You are the second person to ask about this so I need to be clearer. Thank you so much for your kind words and I am so happy to be the cause of your smile! :) God bless you, Dennis

G'day Dennis.

"STARBUCK: "I would give an arm and a leg if...oh, sorry...I wish you would listen to me and save yourself and us from disaster!" (Hahahaha!)

I'm so sorry I don't have a six left, Sir.

A very amusing contest entry, indeed, with a killer last line.

I think you might have this contest in the bag and I wish you the best of luck in it.

Cheers Fez

Excellent flow of dialog between Ahab and Starbuck. I like how the movie is mentioned. Love the last line "Who played me in the movie?" I wish you well in the contest.

Really? It was that easy to talk a obsessed maniac out of his crazy quest. I like your Ahab much better than Melville's. Good humor based on the funny name of Pequod. But I didn't understand why Ahab asked, "Through?"

He asked "Through?"" Meaning are you done or is there more to say? Thanks for the review!

Ah. The " are you" part was implied. Thanks for explaining.

The funny thing is, man is so busy blaming the devil, or indeed, perceiving that God is the devil incarnate, they don't realise that even the devil serves God, and allowed to exist to lead mankind to wisdom. I loved the way you've presented this Dennis. Man destroys himself by his own blindness and concepts of "sin" well done, my brother, a great parody, blessings, Roy

Very well-written dialogue between Starbuck and Ahab. Starbuck advises Ahab not to GI after the white wale thatvis far out from the usual territory. Ahab is interested in who play his character in the movie.
