HI Waves, this is one of your best...I love the way you worded it...it seems like the good people are the ones that get hurt...and die...but I do believe that God only takes the best...soooooooo very well written my sweet friend...it could be a song...love Linda xxoo

This is another very well written poem/song. Every time I read one of these types it makes me think that you just lost your wife. I hope that is not so. Very good wording and would do well for a song! Blessings, Teri

This is a very beautifully worded poem DIP. It really shows another side of you. The pictures that you use are always so amazing also. This poem tugs at the heart strings with relatable expressions. Many people feel this way from one time or the other. Below are my favorite lines, so very precious.

Tears on the keyboard,
My eyes are a river
Please tell me oh dear Lord,
Why you're a taker not a giver?

I sit here bewildered,
Teardrops wet my fingers
Wonder why people hurt most
Are the carers and givers

I didn't know you were a musician too dip! That's terrific and this is a lovely song to express sorrow.

One wee nit:

And I feel it's insiduous (insidious)

Thank you for sharing my friend. :))

Thanks Gloria fixed the spag. Yeah sometimes I dabble with a song lyric or two I have been revisiting my poetry and adding a chorus here and there on the ones that could work. I have enough for 2000 songs lol

    Thanks as always for commenting

Some times people are takers and not givers because they don't know how to give of ones self to another. It is sad but true. Don't know the real reasons why.

Indeed the carers and givers always hurt the most - we wear our hearts on our sleeves.

I love your poem/song lyrics. They ring true with me.

I like this and I too can feel the song, perhaps, because it is a song, that first line should work like a refrain, and appear at the head of each verse, a hook into the title. The lost lines resulting can I feel sure be worked around with a little effort.

You know I was feeling the same. I initially didn't write it with song lyrics in mind until one reviewer suggested it. I like your idea Panty

I know there's lot of this feeling going on right now in the face of such tragedy. But I never question God.

Your poem is sad. We never know why these things happen. Natural disasters occur all the time.

I like the use of 'levy.' A word you don't see often.

Hi Dip
Really enjoyed this solemn poem, which flowed effortlessly,
lovely rhythm and rhyme throughout with some probing questions within.
I particularly enjoyed the last stanza which completed this excellent poem tremendously well.
Mitchell.
