I hear you about trying to get replacement parts for an older car. A junk yard is the most logical place if your garage can help you out with that. It sounds as if you have a very close relationship with each other, as it should be. The medical problems are difficult to deal with, especially when the spouses can't stay with each other. Marilyn

Thanks Marilyn sorry no rewards. I was all set to finish this book when Louise had her Right shoulder injury. Let me know if interested there is a story and a poem about what ended up happening to the car.

Your covering a close loved one in medical procedures is a noble task. I think that was stressful in several ways.

It is evident that relatives meant well in frequent visiting Louise in the hospital ward. Better judgment and advise worked that out. You describe modern medical technology well, and one gets the picture.
Apparently vernacular is different in Australia, but in most narration the language is like the U.S A. Your sentences could use some editing in a few places, but for the most part you tell a great story.. Best wishes for you and Louise.

Don.

Thanks Don I keep wanting to get out of this place and still meet new folks. Not sure we have met before. Long story for elsewhere if interested. I will check your stuff. We are at the end of a long road with this book. We were almost done when my wife had her accident with her Right Shoulder. Hence the additi8on of all this hospital stuff. Our lives changed even more after all this. There are poems and more writings about that if interested, in FS. A lot of this account is copied over from a Diary I wrote about all that was going on hence the sentence problem you are picking up I think. Thanks anyway. Nice to meet you I promise to look for your stuff. A great believer in reciprocating I am. If you are interested in our trips as a disabled couple around our country (Australia) check the Tootsie55 account for "Our Trips" book by my wife whom you have been reading about in here. It is sad that so many of my new friends are coming in right at the end of everything.

Sankey, Sorry about your car mirrors, glad you were able to get a set from a wrecker to match and with a little paint no one will know the difference.
Sometimes too many visitors can be rather overwhelming especially when you are in hospital, I know that from my many experiences. But you cannot tell that to well-meaning visitors. Your writing is fluid and moves very well at a steady pace. I found it very enjoyable to read. I am hoping your wife adjusts very well and is pain-free. My prayers for her and for you too.
Blessings
Sylvia

Thanks very much Sylvia for a lovely review. If you dig around my portfolio you will learn a lot more from for example "Geoff's Musings" and my poems about more changes after this. We are almost done with this book. It was virtually finished when Louise had her accident. Thanks again.

A remarkable and all too often issue with defective vehicles. You write eloquently and deliver a profound journalistic write that carriers your reader lock step through out your extraordinary experiences. Good success and God speed in rehabilitating.

G'day mate.

"We were told by the nurses that corner was reserved for special patients who needed to be "watched" on a regular basis." (Ah, I wondered about that.)

You are having some bad luck with the car... after leaving lights on... the other day.

Sounds like she's in the right place at least. The doctors sound good, as well.

Great job, cobber.

Cheers Fez

I can understand how too many visitors can be stressful. I, again, appreciate the day to day journey you and your wife have endured. It's amazing how all medicare insurance is equally lousy.

Bye-bye mirrors.

Bet mum-in-law would try to make other arrangements for more regular visits.

Story continues to be interesting and well written.

My goodness, I am exhausted just reading all that you have had to do. I am pleased Louise is slowly improving and that she may not have the surgery but physiotherapy instead. I look forward to reading the next two parts.

Things seem to be pretty stressful for Louise, with her parents visiting her regularly, (parents have to watch their over zealous "caring", and mixing it with control! Grown ups are there own people) thanks for the informative updates Geoff. They are enlightening me as to the marvellous facilities available to Aussies these days, American have great medical treatment, but one has to bankrupt to receive them. They think it's socialism to have free medical! Well done, keep your chin up, Blessings, Roy, still praying.

Oh, dear! Knocking off both side mirrors on the car--I'm pleased you got replacements. Searching the internet and Ebay can be helpful too and then people can just post or courier them out--save a trip into Blacktown.
Two torn muscles--I hope they could do surgery to repair them. Wonderful things can be done with carbon fibres but the surgery has to be done fairly soon.
I can understand Louise resenting her mother's control. A change to weekly visits was a good idea.

Thanks Nicole appreciating so much you following along here. Yes they realized surgery was not an option seeing she needs her arms being a CP sufferer.
