Hi Carolyn,

My sincerest condolence to you and your family. To lose one's child would be heart-wrenching. I hope that you're doing ok (all things considered), and that the writing of this poem proved cathartic in some small measure.

This is a very well written poem. It clearly conveys what faith means to you, and the comfort it gives you. Best wishes for the contest and for keeping the faith during this difficult time in your life.

Hugs,
Connie

Carolyn. It's been forever since I've read a post from you and got excited when I saw your pen name in my message board. Then I read the author's notes. Tragic!

"Faith lies within believing hearts"... for sure!

I am so sorry to hear about your son. My prayers will be with you and your family. I'm sure God has big plans for him!

Be well and be strong!! John

I read your poem, felt the words and continue to believe as you do.

Hi my dear John, it is good to see you again as well. Thank you for the kind comments. It has been an incredibly busy year. I keep hoping to spend more time on FS. Now that Mom Stephens has passed we will not be traveling to Phoenix to assist with her care. As much as we miss her, we are already feeling some relief in our stress level. She was a sweetheart, we loved each other. Larry preached her funeral service and did a wonderful job
    He stayed strong.
Are you all doing well? I hope so. Have you written lately? I will check your portfolio and see what I've missed.
    Love you, Carolyn

    Thank you Roy,
Thank you for your kind and comforting words.
Good to see you as well. Our parents are now all gone. We were blessed with longevity in all their lives. Six of us girls are still living, three brothers and one sister has passed. There were ten of us. As we approach the elder years and the ends of our own life it really brings home how brief life on this earth, truly is.
I will be reading and reviewing some today. It gives me a different kind of break. :-)
    Love, Carolyn

A very well-written faith poem. When we walk with the Lord in faith it doesn't mean we will not have bad times, but we will be more equipped to handle the situation with God's hand keeping us safe.

Wow! Seriously, this is a good poem. It explains faith well.
A few small suggestions:
You wrote--
She softly whispers,'don't be afraid'
He sees farther than we do
You refer to 'faith' as 'she' and in the next line it switches to 'he'.
I presume 'He' is God. Who is 'she'? Maybe consider saying 'it'.
*Also, seeing you have used some punctuation, why not end each stanza with a period? [.]

G'day Carolyn.

Both Delia, and I send our prayers and condolences to you and your family on this very sad time in your life, my dear friend. It has been a terrible time for you and faith is what you need right now. I'm glad you have it, as do I.

Beautiful work.

Delia says Kumusta.

Cheers Fez

    Hello Fez,
Yes, it has been hard but we know we aren't the only ones that have lost loved ones close together. It
is sweet to have friends like you and Delia in times such as this. Has both your health improved.? I have
prayed for you and the family.
Thank you for the kind comments.
    Love, Carolyn

Delia still suffers sometimes with high blood pressure, but Dr Feral, is on the job and monitoring her health and diet daily.

As for me, I'm not sure. I have to go back to Australia in the next few months for a cancer follow up. I went from 85 kilos to 50 kilos when I had it. Once it was beaten I went back to 70 kilos, now I'm down to 58 as of last week... sheesh... I feel like a carnival ride with all the ups and downs... but, we'll be okay. God, I'm sure, is on our side.
