Ahh Marival, this is a lovely haiku and I love the notion of the children building sand castles at the beach. What is more, Santa Cruz is special to me. That's where I found my birth mother back in 2003. Un abrazo de tu amiga Ulla;)))

A very well-written haiku. Children building castles of sand on the beach are always proud of their handy work. Unfortunately, their hard work is washed away when the waves reached them.

The beach is one place I think we all go where we know we are going to have fun, be able to relax and just enjoy life. I have fond memories of making sandcastles with my daughters. Nice one Gypsy!

Haiku Club Challenge # The Sea. BOO sees... nice,BOO been to Santa Cruz a few times. Nice boardwalk. Got my battery stolen in the parking lot on Sunday. Sand crabs would love it! Be their castle in the sand. Nice picture that fits the haiku. Depleted of nuggets! rats!

Although quite innocent at face value, this haiku can have a deeper political meaning. Housing affordability for the average family is growing further and further away So the only castle we can call our home would be a sandcastle!
