A very well-written antonym poem. A grain of sand transgresses over years due to friction and irtitation into a beautiful precious gem in an oyster shell into a Pearl.

If we but endure the bad times, we will grown into the good times with beautiful qualities. Life can be difficult, but it's up to us to make it better by enduring. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing.

So true, sand can be not only irritating, but can wear you away, it's an abrasive. Where a pearl is a luminous promise of simplistic beauty. Love this!!! Blessings...

We all need a little friction to get a fire lighted under our bottoms so our behinds will get going as well, June. There are days we simply need that extra little boot in the butt to get motivated.
We all know how pearls are formed. If we don't, we should.
Sand, grit and salty water from the ocean's bottom constantly undergo a process of friction inside of a clam, or oyster. Eventually after several years, layer upon layer of this produces a pearl.
Excellent entry for this contest. I hope you have much more success with your antonym than I did with my own.
Good luck!

My attempt at an sntonym poem didn't fare well. I was irritated and I'm trying again. Maybe this one will be the pearl. Lol

June I really like your write. For every special oyster there is a beautiful pearl that forms. They say a pearl is produced in an oyster because a sand grain or foreign body finds its way into the shell. Lovingly nurtured brings the ultimate beauty.

Your presentation of this beautiful poem is really eye catching. The photo, the color scheme, the script style writing all go together beautifully. I enjoyed reading this. Good luck in the contest.

I like this thoughtful verse! ...
Sand
Sin or transgression can cause much pain and irritation
Covering it with love produces ultimate grace and beauty
Pearl
True--a lustrous pearl does start from a grain of dull sand.

I like the originality of your antonym choice, though i believe it is a 'slant antonym', not exactly opposites except in context. Hope the judges appreciate the imaginative caliber of that choice! Excellent theme and delivery. I also applaud the consonance of S in all lines (including soft C sound in grace). Fine flow.
Love is the key!
Good luck.

I really like the clever theme underlying this antonym contest entry June. It's the irritation to an oyster is covered with "love" by the oyster, and becomes a beautiful pearl, (probably sand) and "!ove covers a multitude of sins" 1 Peter 4:8. So well done, good luck, blessings, Roy

Thank you. And yes, that was the scripture I had in mind. One we need to apply every day if we want to make the world a better place.

Great antonym, God's wisdom is the best tool for a poet.

Love this one, June! It's true that a bit of sand that causes the irritation that results in a beautiful pearl. Then you took that physical fact and raised it to a spiritual plane and made a lovely antonym poem out of it!
