A wonderful letter to someone you miss, and a precious tribute to your father. I like how you put all the family names in here, nice touch! Blessings...

Thank you for your review. I wrote this for my Mother...but thought I'd enter it into the contest. Daddy has been gone 15 years now and it seems like yesterday.

Such natural sentiments and thoughts expressed to one who has passed on - a dear and loving dad 'having a chat' with him as it were - the departed souls are close to us or so we are told- the tone is chatty and natural

Thank you for your review. I often write my Daddy letters. It helps me to talk to him. He has been gone 15 years and it seems like only yesterday sometimes. I am looking forward to seeing him again.

Powerful picture and words. I like the simpleness of telling Daddy what everyone is doing and the thoughts of what Daddy may be doing like catching fish

My Daddy loved fishing. He has on his tombstone "I'll meet you at the river." The Bible speaks of a river that flows from the throne of God with the trees of life growing on both sides. I bet it has a lot of fish, too. :O)

What a truly touching poem it is about sending a message to your father! My father would have been 90 next year. Ahhh. He's been gone for 10 years now and I truly miss him.

Such an endearing message, remembering all the relatives and telling him how they are doing.

I laughed inwardly at these:

Your birthday is this week.
Ninety years would make you an antique.

lol. Excellent work. I wish you loads of luck in the contest.

This is not only a touching tribute to your dearly departed father, poet, it should also be a favorite entry of many for the Write a Letter to Someone You Miss contest.
At least we know our loved ones are waiting for us in a much better place than here.
Best wishes to you in the contest.
~Dean

Thank you, Dean, for your review. I admire your writing very much and am touched that you liked my poem/letter. I often write letters to my Dad. He has been gone 15 years and I still miss him very much. He loved to fish. On his tombstone, he has "I'll meet you at the river." Of course, he is referring to the river that flows from the throne of God.

If your daddy got the message, he must have loved it,with all that good news, and, as he has limitless time, I'm sure he is in no rush to see you in the near future. Let him enjoy his fishing where the weather is always perfect, and the big ones are always biting.

Thanks, Don, for your review. My daddy has been gone now for 15 years. I still miss him very much. He loved fishing and my mom had written on his tombstone "I'll meet you at the river."

I can relate to that. Believe it or not, my parents have been gone since 1975, and I still miss them very much.

thank you for sharing this open letter to your Dad. The prose poem moves along well and tells a story of a loving man who is missed by many. Good luck in the contest,

Wow what a great letter. I am so happy when I see things like this where children actually loved their parents. My dad wasn't as nice so not sure how I feel about him now that he's gone. Great write. xoxo Kiwi

Kiwi, I do realize how fortunate I have been to have a family that is very loving. My dad has been gone 15 years and I still miss him something terrible. My mom is 88 and still going strong. I do not even like to think of her not being on earth with us.
