I read this and got interrupted by a phone call before I could comment apparently. I'm sure it was a big interruption in your lives when she had to be in the hospital for a while but it sounds like it was all the for best and she got good care there.

Yeah not bad. I had some good help while she was in there. It was funny coming home and seeing her wheelchair here and wondering where she was for 2 and a half months. Our lives have changed in a lot of ways since she went to hospital.

This is very realistic, I experienced this scenario only last year, when I was a caregiver for a geriatric. I would be interested in reading the whole work, so keep on scribbling. Well done!

Geoff,
I always think that it's so cool you recorded all this information about your lives so that your family and friends will have it forever. It's a sweet gift to leave them all. And a wonderful way to relive all the best moments of your life, too. Thanks, sweetie!

Thanks, Robyn. Some of the family would not like some things I have said, sadly. Our Queen has died we will probab ly become a Republic, now.

This was written two years ago but it's nice to read the background to your story. Life can be very difficult for those who are handicapped. I can imagine how damage to a rotator cuff would make functioning very difficult for Louise.

Wow! Reading this was surreal to me. I'm familiar with 10 to 14 hour days at the hospital and transfers to rehab facilities as well as home health and hospice care. We too had to get a lift for my Dad. Perhaps had I journaled like you it would have been easier. I'm still struggling to get my bearings. I think your story will help a great many people. You have done an excellent job articulating the struggle and challenges involved with being a caregiver. Thank You for sharing. Beautifully done!

You did a good job with this entry, Sankey. I enjoyed reading it although it was probably hard to write at times. Your info is organized well and flows smoothly. The pictures are great, too. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Thanks friend I know I have seen you around FS before. This hoist is funny at times but mostly ok. I don't want to replace it as we will get hit for another delivery charge ($AUD90 something!!) Had a really dumb carer last night for first and last time! Louise was having to help some of the nurses with the hoist in the hospital at times too! Not good!

Another great job of giving an updated report on your sweetie, and the conditions you face each day while healing takes place. You are no doubt very tired from all the traveling, and extra work you are doing. God bless, we are praying for you guys.

Thank you for the update.
May 3rd. Louise was finishing off in the bathroom and as she reached around, with her Right arm... (lower case 'r' on right)
Seeing she hurt herself she was unable to transfer from the chair to bed or to the car, or in the bathroom.During the initial period prior to her admission to hospital, (space needed after the period)

Boy, you've been having a really crook run of late Bro. Geoff, but thank God for compassionate ambos and medical staff, they've made life a little, although bureaucracy endeavour to trip you up at every turn, I think they enjoy the difficult slavery they inflict. I'll pray for Louise, (and you) that you'll prosper during this difficult period, well done, blessings, Roy
Typo : later, on return(ing) home...
